Arrival Story:
Beasley is actually my sister Mary's dog. Beasley was the dog of a neighbor of a friend of mine. She lived in their garage for the first two years of her life. The wife didn't like her because she "smelled like a dog"....DUH!! The kids in the family loved Beasley, played with her and fed her good. My sister and I fell in love with her and secretly wished the people would let us have her. Then a miracle happened and one day the husband called us over to their house and told us we could have Beasley, just take her....for FREE. Sis and I were visiting there from Michigan, we had flown, so we couldn't take her then, but arranged with our other three siblings to make a "road trip" a few weeks later from Michigan to Illnois. Beasley was eager to go with Sis and my other siblings, it was as if she knew she was going to a better home. She was the perfect passenger, either sleeping like a baby in my sister Jean's arms or sleeping on a makeshift pillow bed in the back of my brothers SUV. I had stayed back home to care for my Dad, who was ill, but when they drove up to the house, Beasley saw me and started to cry, she remembered me!!! She adjusted well, slept with me the first night, loved my Dad, and grieved with us when he passed away in 2004.

Beasley's Mama Mary became very ill and passed away Sept 3rd, 2008. Mary and I lived together and Beasley is our dog. Since I am disabled and live on Social Security, I was so worried that I would have to sell the house and give up Beasley. However, my wonderful sister has provided the means for Beasley and I to live out our lives in peace and plenty of belly rubs!
