So the vet confirmed that surgery to stabilize my fractures would probably be best for a full and speedy recovery. Mom is trying to get it scheduled for this Thursday so she will have the whole weekend to help with my recovery. Keep your paws crossed that everything goes smoothly!!

Just wanted to add this as a diary entry so it is the first thing I see when logging on, thank you for sending this to me:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…

Thursday, November 8th
Took Tyson to the vet because there were 3 different spots of vomit. They treated him with fluid therapy and ran some tests. His pancrease levels were normal, but liver enzymes had skyrocketed.
Friday, November 9th
Dropped Tyson off at the vet for fluid therapy and for x-rays. X-rays did not look good so I was referred to another hospital for ultra sounds. I made an appointment for that day and dropped him off in the afternoon. I begged the vet there to explain the x-rays and she said that the stomach was not in the right spot. After the ultra sound, the dr said it looked like there was a mass and that it was pushing up against liver, stomach, and pancrease. Should know more when she gets the official results back She asks that Tyson fast for a day or two.
Saturday, November 10th
Dropped Tyson back off at the vet for fluid therapy. When I picked him up, she explained that the blood tests she ran did not look good. His liver enzymes were at a toxic level. She explained that we should do an exploratory surgery to find out exaclty what was going on, but that if cancer had gotten into the pancrease then they would not wake him up. She also said that there would not really be any treatment if it had invaded the other organs because they looked damaged. I just don't know that I want him opened up if nothing can treat what is going on.
Sunday, November 11th
I try to puree some food for Tyson, but the smell makes him vomit. I take him back to the vet and she gives him fluids in pack under his skin and sends him home. We are starting to thing that it might be best to say goodbye to my little man without going through surgery, but will wait on ultrasounds to confirm. Tyson still will not eat, but is drinking water-only from the toilet. He is starving to death, and his enzymes are attacking his organs. God help me make the right decision..........
Monday, November 12th
We got the official test results in and it has not indicated any mass, so things are very confusing right now. I spoke to a family friend who has a clinic out of town and I am faxing all the results to them so they can shed some light here.
Tuesday, November 13th
Mom, Tyson, and I are headed out of town to see the doctors mentioned above (4 hour trip). They are absolutely amazing and will do everything they can to find out what is going on with Tyson. I had to leave him there but I have complete confidence in these doctors. They said they were expecting to see a lot worse when we got there but that Tyson just looked a little jaundice. He is having blood work done again today to make sure his liver is functioning properly enough to go through with surgery. They promised to call me every step of the way and had already called in the evening to assure me that Tyson was comfortable and was being loved on.
Wednesday, November 14th
We heard back from the vet today and it isn't good news. The tests showed that Tyson is in liver failure and unfortunately is not a good candidate for any type of surgery. The doctors were going to do a lot of research tonight and have a phone consult with a specialist in the morning. Meanwhile, Tyson is doing good and being as sweet for them as can be. They have all fallen in love with him.
Thursday, November 15th
Vet called back this morning and his blood work has improved enough for them to feel comfortable to go into surgery. They are going to take some biopsies of the liver to see what is causing him to go into accute liver failure.
They actually called back this morning and said that they spoke to a GI specialist and he thinks it could be the gall bladder. They are brining in an ultrasound machine tomorrow and doing an ultrasound guided biopsy of the gall bladder and liver-so no exploratory surgery as of now. Meanwhile, Tyson is eating the food they are feeding him (canned hi-calorie food) and is keeping it down!
Friday, November 16th
Not good news from the ultrasound. It showed cancer had spread everywhere. We decided it was time to say goodbye to my sweet baby. Tomorrow Tyson will head to the rainbow bridge.
Saturday, November 17th
RIP my sweet darling, you will forever be in my heart.
