Beautiful Boy......... Nine wonderful years. You are so loving with your family and protective of us. This year I have noticed you getting older. You are in good health but now have less of the Puppy and more of the Statesman ! There are still difficult things for you... but this year when John came.... you licked his face. That brought tears all round ! Our cuddle at night is so very very special. Happy 9th Birthday Flicka ... Love from Mum , Dad and Lucas.
THANKYOU everyone for the messages the rosies and Love that you have given to My Boy Flicka today.
It is very much appreciated !

........ WE WILL REMEMBER THEM............
Freedom is not Free
Doesnt matter which side they were on. Each was a son or daughter of a Mother & Father.
At the going down of the Sun and in the morning....We will Remember Them
This year... I bought a Poppy from the Tower Of London installation
Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red
It will come to this "foreign field" after 11th November
I will honour that Poppy as I was always brought up to honour the wearing of one
I make no apology for repeating the two poems from last year.
It never diminshes the sacrifices .
For the Fallen ~ by Laurence Binyon
With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.
Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.
But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;
As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.
We will remember them
In Flanders Fields
by Lt. Col. John McCrae, M.D. (1872-1918)
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Well....... its that time of year again.
The Canine Cancer Hero Candle Lighting at Sierra's garden in Maine will be on
Saturday July 26th @ 7:00 PM EST.
Debbie (Wyoming and Cheyenne's Mum) will be lighting for her Angel pups and for my Cleo again.
Do you think we can repeat the last 4 years ?
Folk joined in from all over the world to light 2 candles for all the beautiful Furs (dogs and cats... and any Beloved One's) at a time as close to the time as possible in your time zones. Doesnt matter if its earlier or later... just light the candles ... post the pics... we try to send them to Debbies wonderful friend who allows the candle lighting to be done in her garden with hundreds of candles.
You can send me the photos if you wish and I will send them on to Debbie who will send them to Sierra's Mum.
We CAN... we CAN light the world. We CAN scare away the evil shadow of Cancer... WE CAN !!!!!!
Please join us in your homes.. your gardens.. your hearts .....Two candles.... ONE HOPE
