One of my best friends is Gidget. I met her here at Dogster, and I must say, she's not only out-of-this-world adorable, but soooooo witty! I get to call her Gidaboo, which is her nickname, and so fitting for her unique personality. She's the most beautiful pug to have ever pugged...that's what I always say, and my mom certainly agrees with me. Well, this week, Gidaboo informed me of some fantastic news, she just welcomed a new foster brother into her family. If I know Giddy, she was none too happy about it at first, but now, they're becoming the best of friends. So here's to you, Gidaboo, a most precious pug, who is not only one of my bestest friends, but fast becoming the bestest foster sister!

Bones...yum!

Dad brought home a couple of T-Bone steaks for dinner...well not for *my* dinner. But I got to chomp on the bones after mom and dad were through. Plus, I even got a little taste of mashed potatoes for being good whilst they ate, ha! Mom's got me on this raw diet, so all I eat is raw meat, bones, a little brown rice, beans and various veggies. Sounds very strange, but I LOVE IT. Of course, it doesn't end there. Mom goes a little bonkers, adding vitamins, flax seeds, calcium and other goodies to my meals every single day. She swears by coconut oil-- says it makes my skin and coat look really nice. I overheard them talking the other night and "apparently" I don't shed as much and I smell good now...why I never! But I must admit, when everything's said and done, I indeed feel and look so much better. Thanks, mom! Heehee!!!

*Cough, Cough, Cough...*

I've been coughing a bit as of late. Mom's super paranoid when it comes to my health...if I so much as sneeze funny, she's on the phone with the vet's office. Well, we visited our vet today and he prescribed some cough medicine. But I may have a pulmonary condition or an elongated soft palate, whatever that is, heehee. I really hope it's just bronchitis or a cold, because the thought of having to see the vet again?! I'd rather go a day without treats...on second thought...

The Underneath...

I love sitting underneath stuff. Especially pillows, and heavy blankets. I refuse to cuddle with mom or dad unless they have a pillow or blanket ready to drape over my head, and at least 2/3's of my body. If they don't have anything ready for me, I'll give em a good 'pawing' to let em know that I absolutely demand it, or else they'll suffer the consequence of having to cuddle themselves, ha! Mom thinks I'm crazy because I'll lay UNDER the mattress of my new bed, rather than lay on top of it-- the last photograph on my page is a great example of this. She likes catching me creep in under there on my own, 'cos I flick the mattress up with my head and then saunter on in...easy peasy.

I also enjoy hanging out under their...ahem, I mean, I enjoy hanging out under MY big bed a lot. I usually sneak in there and stay real quiet. This causes mom to go running from room to room calling my name thinking she's lost me. I did this a lot when I was very young, because I was so tiny and it was very easy to maneuver my body under and behind things. I'd hide under all sorts of stuff, or creep into a dark corner and just sit there as silent as a church mouse, waiting for mom to get all hysterical. My auntie Jo (who so totally rocks by the way), would yell at mom to keep quiet, then they'd stand there real still, and aunt Jo would whisper, "I can hear him breathing...he's in the corner behind the dresser!!" Of course they'd find me sitting there with a look on my face that said, "what's the matter, mom, some'm happen?!" Oh...those were the days. LOL.

Pillows and Beds

So, mom suckered dad into buying me a new bed. See, I have some idiocyncrasies that relate to hard floors or concrete...I won't sit on em. I dunno how I developed this habit, but it's here to stay. When mom really wants to play around, she'll hold a scrumptious treat in her hand and say, "Ollie, sit."-- while we're in the kitchen. Well, she knows I won't sit on the floor. So I'll start backing up and backing up, until I reach the carpeted hallway, then I'll sit. She giggles hysterically when I do this. Hmph! All that for a treat...but they sure are delicious. And to be honest, I'd do just about anything for food...well anything short of solving chemistry equations. But that's a whole other story.

I have so many of these plush pillowy objects laying around the house. Sometimes mom tosses them all into a huge pile and calls me 'Sultan', whatever that is-- and waits for me to plop down and take a nap. She thinks I prefer sleeping on em, but to be honest, any carpeted area will do...just no hard floors, please.

So back to this new bed. It's more a pillow, and a gigantic one at that. I love it. Dad counted em all up tonight and exclaimed, "no more...he's got five of em now..." Well don't look at me pops, you're the one who keeps buying em. LOL.

It's raining again...

Rain, rain go away...even if it's just lightly spitting out, I flatly refuse to go outside. Well, I need to go potty somewhere, and this causes mom a lot of heartache. Well, not literally, but ya know what I mean. It's supposed to stop later on this evening, so hopefully we'll go out for a little jaunt-- as mom likes to put it, so I can 'stretch my legs a bit'. She's real uppity about my getting enough exercise, sleep, nutrition and all that jazz.

Ya see, in our household, mom sets all of these strict rules, leaving dad and me no other choice but to break them! If mom says, I'm barking too much, dad says, "ah, it's okay, let him bark..." If I've already gobbled up my share of treats for the day, mom says no more-- dad says, "let him have some more..." My dad so totally rocks! But don't get me wrong, I love em both just the same. Although mom has a tendency to get kinda gushy-mushy from time to time. Especially when she watches Emergency Vets or Animal Precinct. She holds me tight, crying into my fur, causing me to give her a paw to the face. She really leaves me no choice. I've got my coat to think about, thank you very much ;)

Right now she's got me swaddled up real snug in my favorite lime green baby blanket. Sure I'm no baby, and lime green ain't the most macho of shades, but I love it. And I swear it's lined with a mild tranquilizer of some sort, as it always makes me very sleepy. Well, night-night, and don't let the bed bugs bite!
