Arrival Story:
She was found on the street, dodging cars, and rescued by my friend. No owner, and given up by another couple, when she came to our house because she had nowhere to go. She weighed less than Tiger the shih-poo, and just a bag of bones. She would cry when I tried to touch her and wouldn't let me put a leash on her for 3 days. Finally, on the third day, she came to me and let me stroke her and put her leash on and thereafter she was a normal dog, eating, playing, being happy. Progressively over the month we had her, she became more and more relaxed...less nervous pacing and jumpiness. When relaxed, she lays down and crosses her front paws like a dignified lady. She tolerated our other dog at first, and the cat, and learned that if they took her food, I would have more for her. She prefers to walk on my left, perhaps a remnant of her past training days. We took her to the vet where she got a clean bill of health.
Bio:
My friend that rescued Angel told me that a couple that had adopted Angel but gave her back had second thoughts. I knew I could not keep her at the time because of my school schedule and demands and I was only fostering her. The couple deeply regretted it and missed her so dearly they were searching for her on the internet everyday. They convinced us that they were ready to rehabilitate Angel. They are now my facebook friends where I see photos of Angel (now Chloe) at the beach. So...a happy ending. But I still miss her!
