I admit that I'm a spoiled pup! I have so many toys underfoot from Christmas and my birthday (January 11th) that Pop says it's worst than when my human siblings were kids! I received a FULL stocking of Christmas squeaky toys and red/green ropes and balls, but mom decided to put those away until Christmas. I also got TWO of the combo fun packs from Costco, that has "Chuck-its" in them. Mom took one of those to the dog park since someone stole the last one. Mom also took a few of my other rope toys and frisbees to leave at the park for others to play. I guess I have enough to go around :)
I'm still on Royal Canin puppy food for large breeds. Looks like I'll stay on this food until I'm 15mos old. That's okay with me, since I like it.
Oh yeah, I was left behind while mom and pop went to China for 10 days in November. I stayed with this lady known as Auntie Janes. There were other dogs there too, but what was really special was when my pal Chumley came to stay at Auntie Jane's the last 3 days I was there! Chumley and I wrestled a lot, and we slept curled up together in auntie Jane's bedroom. I guess I had a nice vacation just like my mom and dad!
I still go to work with mom acouple of times a week. I love it when people come over to make a fuss over me, especially the kids!
It's been a fun year. I'm a lucky dog!

I went on my 2nd 'long' road trip last weekend. My first road trip was to Santa Barbara in July, when I was 6mos old. That was just a long day of driving with very little recreation. We went to Santa Barbara and back to the Bay Area all within 22 hours. Wasn't a lot of fun, but I did great!
This last road trip was more about me! Again, we headed for Southern California, but first we walked around Solvang where I shared a cheese Danish with mom and a bear claw with pop. Then we went to Santa Barbara where we picked up college sis 1 to go to the beach! These 3 guys played frisbee with me and got me to chase the frisbee into the surf! It was fun!
After the beach we went to Irvine to visit college sis 2. We went to this great dog park which was the size of a football field. GRASS GALORE! There were about 100 dogs to interact with! We stayed at the dog park for about an hour.
After dinner, we checked in to a La Quinta hotel which is dog-friendly. It was a nice, clean room for the price (under $100). When I went out for my last "call", I met an 8mos old chow/shepherd mix and we romped on a grassy patch (off leash) for half an hour. Then I was ready for bed! Back in the room a loud stairwell door would startle me once in awhile and make me growl and bark.... but mom kept shushing me. Other than that, I had a good night.
Mom woke me up to go for a walk at 7am and then she brought me some breakfast (yoghurt to go with my kibble). Then we went back to that huge Irvine dog park again. This time I saw over 30 Huskies who must meet regularly. I thought we had travelled to Siberia!
We met up with relatives in Los Angeles in the afternoon, and then we took the Grapevine home. It took us about 6.5 hours with 3 gas/rest stops. Mom says I was a super-good girl. I had a good time, but am glad to be home!
