Arrival Story:
I was on my way to the local SPCA to adopt a dog and was passing by another shelter, so I decided to check there first. At this shelter, you look through a book of pictures and descriptions before you are able to see a dog. None of the dogs in the book seemed like a good fit for my house with an older dog and a cat...until I got to the end. Romey was the very last dog in the book. The description of his personality seemed perfect and when I asked to see him, it was love at first wiggle. Romey was 7 months old and had been at the shelter for 3 months. No one who knows him can figure out why he hadn't been adopted in all that time because he's absolutely the sweetest dog on earth. I like to think he was waiting for me. :)

Romey loves everyone from people to other dogs to cats. We all love him too: Older sister Georgia cleans his ears and face every night and newest little sister Olivia thinks he's her personal pillow. Romey doesn't quite know what they're up to, but he'll let them do just about whatever they want. O'Malley thinks he's pretty cool too and Romey tries to get O'Malley to play ball with him. It hasn't worked yet. He's big and goofy and when he wags that little stub of a tail, his whole body wiggles - and my heart melts. I can't decide which is cuter - when he wags that little stub as fast as he can or when he wags it slow. Little does he know that when he wags, he can get just about anything he wants!
