 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: May 29th 2004
Likes: Paikea. SNOW! Cuddling. Doing pet therapy work. Pulling sleds! Digging land mines in the yard. Sassing me back. Destroying literature.

Pet-Peeves: Being ignored when he's talking to me. The "Leave Kitty!" command. Having to walk in "Heel" position when he feels he should be ahead of me, dragging me face down in the snow.

Favorite Toy: Paikea (especially her head). Soccer balls. Hexapus (octopus now minus 2 legs). Cat toys. Dead frogs. Plastic soup containers from Chinese take out (don't ask, but we always find them crunched up in the pond eventually).

Favorite Food: Chunky peanut butter. Salmon. Oatmeal. Yummy Chummies! The cat's hairball remedy.

Favorite Walk: Metroparks hikes in the woods. Punderson State Park mushing trails. Strolling through the hospital on his therapy visits. Any place he can be admired and adored by strangers.

Best Tricks: He can say: "I wanna," "I NO wanna!," "I love you," "I'm a wolf," "I know," "no, no," "Go!" and "NOW!" - all in the proper context, without my prompting. Stealing corn bread no matter where we put it. Using everyday objects as tools (to cause trouble).

Arrival Story: It was love at first sight. Malkin was born in May of 2004. He came from a litter of red & wht girls (the only blk&wht, the only parti-eyed pup, and the only boy) who were all dominant over him. Very shy and scared at first, once I spent some time alone with him he quickly warmed up and showed me just how curious and expressive he could be. Now he's a confident, fearless, playful, affectionate ladies man (hence the nickname "Huggy Bear").

Bio: Malkin currently has a pack consisting of 2 humans, 1 other husky, 9 cats, and the occasional foster husky. Despite this, he is a typical sibe in many ways: independent, extremely active (at least in winter; he hibernates in the summer), stubborn, loquacious, intelligent, mischievous, affectionate, and downright silly. He's always there to give kisses and woos. He's the sweetest Court Jester I've ever known. Malkin is now officially a Canine Good Citizen and a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International (a job he adores doing). He is also in training to be a working sled dog; he can run anywhere in the team, even lead. He inspired me to create a husky rescue group, so come check out Husky Havoc RRT: http://www.huskyhavoc.com

Meaning of his name:: a malkin was a charm used in medieval alchemy that could turn good things into miracles and bad things into catastrophes. Trust me, it fits.
