Arrival Story:
My son-in-law rescued Zelda and her brother Zurg when we lived in Victorville, Ca. They were living in deplorable conditions and were about 8 - 10 weeks old. We actually got Zelda first, for free, and about 2 months later Zurg was offered to us for $25. I was afraid when Zelda first came to us because the only thing I knew about Pit Bulls was the terrible things in the news. Then I fell in love with her and claimed her as my own. Zelda was the gentlest, most loving puppy. I had both dogs spayed and neutered and at about 9 - 10 months of age we all moved to Washington. After moving to Washington one of our dogs had to go because we were only allowed 2 dogs in our rental. My daughter already had a Bassett Hound, and since we had Zelda longer than her brother Zurg, we took Zurg to a no-kill shelter. We were assured he had been adopted into a good home on a farm where he could run and play as much as he wanted.

Bio:
In Dec 2005 I went to California for a couple of months and left Zelda with my daughter. Zelda was a very impressive jumper, she moved like a gazelle. It was hard to keep her behind a fence, and being a young dog she needed a lot of exercise. She had a large yard to run in, but she was always an explorer. She jumped the fence and was hit by a car. To this day we still cry for her when we talk about her. Zelda left us in late December 2005.
