Arrival Story: We found Raleigh stuck in a kennel, milling around in his excrements. Intervention began by asking to walk him at night, since we were "scared of the dark." After a while, we asked the owner if we could adopt Raleigh, since he was not taking care of Raleigh at all. The owner said, "Ok, fine. But give me $50 bucks for him." So we did and have loved every minute of him in our lives. We can't quantify how much joy and happiness Raleigh brings us!

Bio: Raleigh is in Acupunture for liver and back problems. It has helped him so much! at 14.5 years old, he is a new dog!
UPDATE:
Very sadly, Raleigh died on October 11, '05. He had a quick and sudden down fall in health, so we took him to our local vet ER. Raleigh was diagnosed with many masses of cancer. We took Raleigh home that next night, as his prognosis was not looking good. We wanted him to be with us, and, even as nice as our ER is, we wanted him to be comforted, held, kissed, cried over and loved. We slept with Raleigh in the bed between us, holding him through the night.
In the morning, we took Raleigh to the beach near our house, as it is his favorite hang out. Penny carried him out to the blanket where we laid with him for a couple hours. During that time, Raleigh got up, walked over to a big drift log, took a sturdy stance and marked his territory for the last time on that beach. The call came in that Raleigh's cancer would not be treatable with a favorable outcome. We lay there for a while longer, crying our eyes out and knowing the fate of what we would have to do.
Penny carried Raleigh to the truck and laid him in the seat behind us. Pen comforted Raleigh, as we drove to the ER once again. This time, we knew we would not be leaving with our best buddy.
Raleigh drifted off to peaceful sleep at 5:09 pm on October 11, '05. Not a day goes by that he is not the forefront of our thoughts and heartache.
Raleigh, we miss you so intensely, that our bodies hurt and our eyes swell with tears. No other love is greater than the love we have for you. See you soon, Good Boy.
