Arrival Story:
Dollie had a hard life before I found her. She was found abandoned and tied to a tree by the SPCA. When they found her she was trying to nurse a litter of puppies. Her condition was scary. She was within her last few days of life, all her pups except one had passed away from starvation and the last one died the next day. She was so malnourished, she only weighed @45 lbs. When they found her, she was curled up with her dead pups and didn't have the energy to move or respond to the rescuers. They put her in foster care to rehabilitate her for adoption. She was so skinny; you could see all her bones and joints. I was looking for another dog to be a buddy for Rosie when I heard about her from the grape vine. I called the SPCA and found out that she was in the last week of her adoption period before she would be put down. Before making any heart felt decision, I met her. I was in love. She had the look of hope and want to love and be loved. I brought her home the next day. She is Heartworm + and the vet said the worms are already formed in her heart and treatment would kill her. They suggested to let her live out her life happy for once, and I agreed. I have owned her now for 6 years and the vet is pleased she has survived. She weighs @130lbs now, her proper weight. She is so loving and eager to please.

I am to old for this. Mom brought home a new little sister and I got to meet her today. I don't know where she came from but she looks part squirrel. Mom said I couldn't eat her and I have to be easy with her. She is like the size of my paw. I layed down and let her jump and bite on my paw. She was so cute doing that that I just had to lick her all over. I think she liked it so I am just going to lick her every day. Mom said she wont be as big as me so I am going to have to protect her. I can do that. I will make sure those pesky squirrels don't try to take her back. I think I am going to like having a little sister around. ......Dollie
