Best Tricks:
honestly his cuteness that he can turn on at any time....other than that he is great at sitting "pretty", and also can whisper, he does the military crawl, and loves to stick his head out of the sunroof when he goes for a ride

Arrival Story:
A lady was giving pups away for free, and we went to her house and saw the conditions that he and his 7 siblings were living in and knew that we had to adopt one. I was sitting on the floor and my husband Jan was standing behind me. Bax was the runt of the litter so he was in the corner and had to crawl over all the other pups to get to me. I picked him up and fell in love with his milk stain (white markings from lip to neck that look like his dribbled milk down his chin). He was kissing and pawing me and I handed him to my husband. Jan took hold of Bax and Bax bit his nose! Jan said, "this is the dog" lol, and we took ownership.

Bio:
The lady who had the pups didnt really know what she was doing, and when he was only 5 weeks old we got a call from her that said "The pups mother is biting her pups and Im afraid that she will harm them, so if you dont pick your dog up tonite, Im taking them all to the pound on the morning" We tried to explain that the mother was just moving her pups around and that she missed her pups (she was only allowed to be with them at night, otherwise she was separated from them outside). So we picked him up that night and got all of his stuff the next day. Thats why we consider him a rescue.

Saddest Day

I have been feeling pretty sick lately and stopped eating. Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctors....boy was I glad to see them! They said that I had an infection in my intestines. They gave me some yucky stuff I had to drink to take xrays. They gave me medicine and sent me home...I was glad to be home. I still didnt eat anything for a few days but I was drinking fine so the doctor said to wait 2 more days.
After those two days I was still sick. Daddy took me to the doctors again and they made me drink that yucky stuff once again, this time they found that I had an ulcer in my throat. I have never been this sick before and I wanted to be better. They told daddy that I could only eat soft canned dof food blended with water. Two days later when I came home they made the same food for me that I had in the doctors. My throat was so sore I still didnt want to eat but I did some anyway cause Mommy and Daddy kept asking me to. When I didnt eat and then stopped drinking for two more days, Mommy called the vet. The vet just didnt know why I wasnt eating and why I had even stopped drinking. Even milk and ice cream didnt taste good to me. The doctor said that I should come back for one last weekend. If they couldnt make me better then they would have to "think about putting me down" I didnt know what that meant but I was willing to try again.

On Monday July 21st Daddy got a call from that doctor. "Im sorry" he said, " Baxter is not any better, and I think its time we talk about ending his suffering." Mommy and Daddy started crying, but I thought that they were very brave when they made the choice to stop my pain and owie feelings. At 5:30 pm Mommy, Daddy, a good friend Manny and my best buddy Ceasar (who mommy "adopted" on this site) came to see me for a while. I perked up and wagged my tail and walked around happy to see everyone. I could see Mommy was sad, so I licked her and gave her a look that said " dont be sad Mommy, I am ready. You and Daddy have given me 10 years of the best love and care I could ever ask for."

The doctor poked me one last time while Daddy held me and Mommy was there.

Our Bax held on for about 30 seconds while we hugged him tight and told him what a good puppers he was and how much we loved him. We had him creamated and he is home now, where he loved to be. Bax is the best dog Ive ever known, smart and funny and so good. He is the best boy I could hope for.

(About 3 months ago we adopted a puppy who will soon be on here as well, we will wait a long while I think before we get another. Bax would not want us to be this way for long....so we will try not to grieve too long and hard.)

Thank you for all those who are Baxters friends....he loved you all.
