Arrival Story:
I had a Shetland Sheep dog when I was a teenager. As I recall this was one beautiful dog and always at my side. As time went on Uncle Sam required my services. During my absence Toby went to sleep for the last time. As time goes on I was soon married and had two little ones of my own. It is hard to remember how many pets came forth, cats, rats, lizard and other woofers. The only thing was that all of them were chosen by my children. After they grew up to make families of their own, I thought that it was time for me to find a true friend Another Shetland Sheep dog.

Bio:
I can never forget the first time that my Pa set his eyes on me. Never did figure out why he was drawn to me. Here I lived in a small filthy caged area. He picked me up and saw through the skinny runt that smelled like a dirty kennel. At any rate he put me in his van and held me all the way to the store. We picked up some toys and plenty of shampoo. Then it was home and pa gave me a gentle cleansing while mom aired out the van. That first bath was rather rough at first but as I dried out in the warmth of his arms it all seemed better. It became obvious that I would soon be the master of the house. Pa is trained really well and spends a great deal of time playing with piles of toys. He even buys me special costumes for Halloween. Dressing up is kind of cool because you get so much attention. When we go to the toy store he lets me ride in the cart. Kind of like the center of attention. I must admit that the best time of day is the evening when pa lets me sit beside him in his big chair. Before long we head off to bed where I get to lay beside him all night. Before I go to sleep we rough house a bit and then I give him a great big kiss. If mom is lucky she gets a small kiss. When it is really cold then I snuggle up tight. One of my favorite tricks is to herd Pa when he is out in the yard. Got to stay behind him and gently touch his pants to let him know that I am in control. Some times I start making big circles around him until he laughs and hoots. Not so funny when I slip and tumble. Well must go as I hear the tingle of food in my dish and yes if I hurry up Pa will save something from his plate for me.

Well our family is down by one. Sasha went to live with Grandma. I'll miss her and hope to see her soon. All in all this will be better for Sasha as she will be closer to her mother. She just stayed with us while they were at their cabin by the lake. We cleaned her all up nice and tidy - halter on, food packed, dishes and all of the special things that she requires. It wasn't easy for her to climb in to the car. Those 0ld bones don't move the way they did when she was a young one. I’ll miss her but they will take fine care of her and I know that they will never hesitate to bring her back if they can't take care of her. So long my friend.
Mom was a bit late getting home from work tonight so we got stuck with the old standby macaroni and cheese for supper. Sure will be delighted when I get a chance at that turkey - mac and cheese just doesn’t set well with this gentleman.
Pa cleared the living room of all obstacles tonight and we roughed house like wild ones. As fast as I could attack pa would push me back - sounded really furious and he laughed at me. I love those times when we can play without any regard to the rest of the world. I can tell that pa kind of likes it as well.
Seems like every night that I say that it is time for me to call it a night but for some reason I want to keep writing tonight. I know I know, it is getting late and time to call it a night. But a guy ought to be able to write a note or two when he wants to. It’s just that I’m feeling kind of down – first my friend Sasha leaves and in the next day or two Isabelle will be leaving to live with his dad. It is going to be a quiet place around here with just Smokey and myself to run the place. Smokey is my old buddy the three legged cat. We call him kick stand or tripod. He only has three legs as some mean people did something and smashed one of his legs beyond repair. Don’t mind saying that he is pain in the >>>. Always cuddling up next to me – I really like him but it just isn’t what a dog should do. After all, we are in charge of things and not some old cat.
Pa is calling saying that it is time for bed. Better head on up the stairs and give him a great big sloppy kiss – he really likes it even if he says yuk.

Fun and games.

Well as usual this is a rather dull evening - my family "Sasha" is snoring in the corner as I write this - how embarrassing. She sounds like a freight train in slow motion. Slowly in and slowly out - a deep chug here and a whistle there.
Pa was gone all morning but came home to spend the afternoon and evening with me. I love those times when Pa can spend time alone with me. Pa gave me my medicine and even put some flea stuff on my back - kind of a strange deal you know - he takes this package and pulls out something covered in foil. He tugs at it - saying a few choice words until he works this plastic thing out. Then there is a snap and the next thing that I know it is going down the middle of my back. I really don't get it - why all the bother about a harmless little flea - I'll bite right back and scratch until the fur flies. But no, there will be none of that because they think that it is a sign of a dirty dog. Mom is bugging me as she tires to get me all brushed up and pretty for Thanksgiving Day. She thinks that I need to be spit shined before I go down there to play. All will be lost as we run and tumble chasing toys and each other.
The only thing better then thanksgiving is the three days following when I get a hundred percent of Mom and Pa. I just may take them out for a walk if they can be good for a change. I can picture it now as Pa wanders around the ponds looking for that rare bird while I say let's get it on and move. Mom as usual will just look at me and smile.
Pa just told me that if I’m really good on Thanksgiving that he would give me chomp on the old drum stick. Whoopee do – how do you like them apples – why I could shout what a wonderful thing is this! Personally I’d rather go out with my friends and roll around in the muddy lawn and tease the beagles that are confined to the kennel. We bark at them real low and then when they start to yelp my Uncle will bellow at them to quiet down. As you can tell, none of us can do anything wrong. My aunt just says “Dan oh Dan what have you done”? This is after chewing on a new pair of shoes. Then there is Will the king supreme. Why he could bite the President and his Mom would say – why are you bothering my precious angle? Then there is Pa that is right to my rescue when the playing turns in to more then a game. And the others get yelled at while I’m cuddled in my Pa’s arms. Ah yes the wonders of another Holiday are close at hand.
I must really go as Pa just said that it is time for bed. I will talk to you later. Bark bark!

It has been a long time.

Seems like it has been years sense I had time to set down and do any serious writing. It has been a bit boring around here the past few days. Pa has been busy with work – lucky for me he works from home on his computer – this way when I act really nice he will get me a treat. Never have too many of those biscuits. Mom is a teacher and has stacks of papers to correct every night – not sure what they do with all of them – seems silly to me. I never went to none school and look how smort I am. My pa said that if I do not behave better then he is going to send me to obedience school. If I have to go then I will really put up a horrible fuse – bark, growl, bark and growl. Pa thinks that my growl is funny as it sounds more like I am grumbling then growling – anyway he knows that I would never hurt another dog or any of those human types.
Pa let me watch the TV last night – The Dog Whisperer was on – I tell you what a joke that he thinks he knows what every g wants. I bet that he has no idea that I am waiting for Thanksgiving dinner. Our whole family will be there well most of us will be a couple have trouble when there I a crowd. As for Dan, Will, Hobo the parrot, and myself will all be waiting by the table. Some times they even let us sit on a chair. Pa sneaks stuff ff of his plate for when Mom is ding something else. I will probably get some tators, squash, green beans and best of pumpkin pie.
Well better go as everyone is coming back in the house – pa with a treat for me, mom with a stack of papers. Bark to you all later – woof.
