Shadow's Been Adopted!

Shadow developed degenerative myelopathy, and could no longer do his service work. On top of this due to a career change and his inability to jump, age, and large size, I had to place Shadow into a good home for his elder years that would be able to treat his condition, and where he would not be faced with obstacles like steps, and large trucks to get in and out of.

Shadow was my best friend for a long time, and I was very sad to have to make this choice. But my choices were to euthanize him, lose a career, or place him. As much as I loved and love Shadow I knew there was a better place for him to be that could treat him and keep him comfortable.

The lady Shadow is with now is a wonderful person, with a big heart whom was willing to look past Shadow's medical issues and see the great companion and loyal protector that Shadow is. She appreciates him and hopefully he will spend the remaining days of his life loved, and pampered in ways I wouldn't be able to do.

Shadow was my first dog when I left home, and part of me will always hold all other dogs to his standard. I cried like a baby when I left him in his new home, even though I knew he would be loved there.

May you live long and prosper Shadow.

Mother keeps talking to me about moving to a big place with lots of room for me to run and play. She says when we move she will be getting me 2 new playmates, she says one will be just like me, and one will be very small and will have to wear a warm coat because were we are going it snows alot in the winter. Now I don't know what this talk about snow and coats is about, but I am ready to go and run around and play! Are we there yet?!
