Arrival Story:
She was a sweet old rescue that someone had dumped in the desert. She suffered from glaucoma and had to have one eye removed. Later she also developed seizures, which we were able to control with phenobarbital. When she came to us she was terrified to leave the van wheever we took her anywhere. It was crystal clear that she had been deliberatley abandoned, and was terrified it would happen again. However, after a few months of going hiking with the rest of us, she stopped running back to the van and learned to go with us on her own. She soon became a wonderful trail dog. It broke our hearts when she just died while in a friend's care overnight.
