This week has been a very tiring week, I've been working like a dog (no pun intended!). Mom and Dad had several people coming in and out of the house all week, something about a new fur nest? Makes sense I guess that they'd need a fur nest since they don't have a built in fur coat like me, especially when we're having such a cold winter. Anyway, these guys were bringing in big machines and taking out big machines and it was a lot to keep track of! This one machine today was LOUD and I thought it was going to blow up the house! The guys kept sticking this hose in all the holes in the floor where air blows through and each time they'd put the hose in the hole, the machine would make this really loud noise.... I didn't know what was going on and I was doing my best to defend the house against this loud monster - I'm hoarse from all the barking and growling I had to do! It was worth it though, 'cause I finally scared off the nasty beast and quiet was restored. And the house is warmer now too... weird. At least there is a silver lining in all this.... the guys that were here? They were really cool guys and they LOVED me! I know they really appreciated all my efforts at helping and fighting the big machine. So between the excitement of making new friends and defending the homestead, I am wore out! TGIF!!!!

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted - sorry pals! Wow, a lot has happened since I last posted and I'm not sure where to begin. Well, I've been given added responsibilities around the house and it keeps me pretty busy. Grandpa moved in with us and it's my job to make sure my sister the cat doesn't bother him too much (I do that by competing with her for Grandpa's attention). I also am responsible for making sure Grandpa doesn't eat too much so I have to be present at every meal and beg for some of his food. Here I thought I was tired before Grandpa ever moved in, but now he's here and I have all this responsibility... it absolutely wipes me out! A girl can't get enough beauty sleep!
I'm sorry to report the evil squirrel situation is still a problem despite all my best and ongoing efforts to rid the world of this diabolical rodent! We had an ice storm a few weeks ago and I was most hopeful that with the ice covered trees and branches at least one of the devils would have fallen to their death, but no such luck! So I remain on the alert. Fortunately we got a new deck so that really helps me launch my attack from the back door! One of these days Squirrels, one of these days....
I have to say, I had a great Christmas. I was a bit dismayed to see my sister's stocking equally full but I couldn't help but note my cat sister did not get any of the cool toys like what I got! In my stocking I had a stuffed penguin, a camo stuffed ball, a tennis/rope pull toy and a long, squeaky camo chew toy. THEN under the tree there were two presents on top of all my stocking glory - I got a squeaky rabbit AND a gargantuan rawhide bone! It was the BEST CHRISTMAS ever!!! Of course, having this precious bone is just one more thing I have to work to keep my sister away from but it's definitely worth it!
My 2009 New Year's Resolutions are: 1) rid the world of evil squirrels, 2) keep the cat from getting too much attention and 3) keep the cat away from my rawhide.
Well, you can see how hard my life is and it's past time for my nap so I'll wrap this up. Happy New Year - OORAH!

Well, I can now say I honestly know what it's like to be in heaven and be tortured at the same time! The best and worst thing happened to me this week ~ daddy brought me my very own REAL bone this past Saturday! It is absolutely heavenly... the smell...the taste...it's perfect!!! I couldn't have asked for a better surprise! The bad news is ~ I can't stand to be away from it in case my sister the cat gets close to it & thinks it's HER bone! I just couldn't stand to not have my bone, & to lose it to a cat makes it that much worse!! So to ensure that can't happen - won't happen - I've been living by my bone. Fortunately my food and water bowls are closeby so my bone stays in full view but going outside to hit the head has presented a problem. I need to go. I want to go. I HAVE to go. But as soon as I step outside, I realize my bone is unguarded and I just can't go. Needless to say, this has been a painful, tortured past few days! Thankfully, I think I've come up with a solution to my dilema. I have been able to bury my bone!! Mom keeps a big towel inside the door to wipe my paws on and I have been able to bury in that towel! Hee,hee, hee! The cat has been foiled and I can now resume some of my normal activities - whew!!! (Though I still need to keep a close eye on the cat!)
