a new adventure

it has been a long summer and even longer september! i have not been able to get online in awhile. this summer we did a lot of travelling. we went to sedalia, mo for the ragtime festival. (see pic) we also went to tx to visit the great-grandparents and my mom's best friend. mom and dad had to leave me with grandma while they went to dad's family reunion in nm. my grandma moved to tx. i miss her! :( both of my aunts are having babies! i haven't been around human babies before. at the end of this month, we're moving to an apartment. i don't know if i'll like it, but dad said i'll get to go for more walks, so i'll like that. also, oct. 2 is my birthday. people have been passing something around, but they won't let me see it... things are all messed up right now. a bunch of our rooms are empty and dad has been working a lot at the apt. so mom and i have been alone a lot! one other thing, when we move, we're getting a cat! yay!

happy 2008!

i had the best christmas! i got to make some new friends, inga and luna. we got to hang out all evening in their backyard, barking and howling. it was a lot of fun! then i got to spend a lot of time with my cousin napoleon (see picture). i got a lot of presents, including a really nice nametag with my address and phone #. i hope to have lots of adventures and make lots of friends this year!

thanksgiving

this year, i got to go to oklahoma for thanksgiving. i was a little nervous on the way there, because i knew there would be lots of new people there. they were all really nice to me! they also had 3 dogs, abby, bo, and jake. everyone told me they were springer spaniels. jake did NOT want to play and bo didn't seem all that interested but abby and i played all day. every morning i woke up early to play with her and didn't stop till we were wiped out ( see pictures). i don't know when i'll get to see her again, but i can't wait! i had a lot of fun!

halloween

this was my first halloween with mom & dad. i was a pirate, although i didn't like my hat very much.it's probably because of all the mean pirates i met while i was in the navy. i got to play with my cousin napoleon while mom & dad sat outside. because mom's in a wheelchair, she was fdr and dad was eleanor roosevelt. when i saw dad in a dress, i didn't recognize him and i barked and growled at him! then i realized who he was and boy, did i feel silly! i had a lot of fun, and i can't wait for next year!

maple leaf parade

todaywas my 1st time going to the big parade here in carthage. right away, i knew i was going to love it! there were so many people & dogs and the air smelled like bratwurst and funnel cake (or so i'm told). people stared at me in my red jacket, and kids kept coming up to pet me. i was well behaved, except when the first band came by. the drums reminded me of our ship's cannons during the war and i tried to run away. there was a really fun dog show. next year i might enter. i got to see my cousin, napoleon, my new friend penny, and i got to meet her older brother plato. we all got along really well. normally, i don't get people food, but today i got a little bratwurst. i LOVED it! also, mom & dad bought some mini dog cookie cutters, which means more cookies for me! well, better go, i'm worn out!
