Arrival Story:
I was given to my human sister on her birthday by her boyfriend. As you might expect ( from teenagers ) even though my sister loved me,Mom & Dad took over my care. We did everything together.
About 2 years ago I started to have trembling in my hindquarters. The vet said it was hip dysplasia and nerve damage. I was started on medication, and soon began to improve. After a few months ,once again, things began to go down hill. My meds were changed numerous times as was my exercise. I had good and bad times. The last 10 months I was having more and more bad days until I was no longer able to stand or walk. Mom and Dad knew what was in the future. They did all they could to help me. They got a wheelchair for me , a special bed and a harness to hold me up so that I could still go outside to potty and have walks. When I decided that it was time, I let them know in their hearts that I was ready to cross to the TRB. (7-25-08)
Mom and Dad took me to Dr. Huneycutt. She gave me a little something to help me relax. While Mom and Dad held me close and told me they would love me forever and that we would be reunited one day, the doctor helped me make a peaceful transition. Mom and Dad are still having a terrible time even though they know that I am in a better place. We will always love each other.
