Her original family dropped her off at the pound to be put down because they "couldn't keep her" anymore. Kathy, with Smiley Dog Rescue, called me to set up an appointment to show me a couple of dogs available to foster. The first dog was "too much to handle." Ginger came out wagging her whole body with a huge smile on her face. We went to a doggy playroom and she rolled on her back for a belly rub. She also gave a TON of KISSES. I knew that I could foster such a loving dog.
After a couple of weeks, it was time for her to go to "adoption day." We prepared for adoption day with a bath and a list of reasons why someone should adopt Ginger. As we walked up to the adoption station to check-in, someone asked if she was for adoption and I said "NO!" Ginger's first adoption day took only 5 mins. We walked straight to the table and performed our commitment ceremony. $60 for the adoption and $10 for the license and we were a match made in HEAVEN! I've Been On Dogster Since:
