Arrival Story: one day....when I looked outside where we worked,on the monitor,I saw a small dog,I had flew out of the chair and office thinking, did my mini doxie somehow get out?By the time I got to the area the dog was last seen,it was walking by the train tracks,,I called it knowing it was not mine, for he was a standard and Peanut is a mini, this little fella came right away...... I gave him some food and water and sat with him outside,I noticed he had a collar on,though old.
It appeared he was taken care of....but,what was he doing walking around there, the worse part of town, and, where trains go many times a day?? I bough t him in and made up flyers, called local shelters and in short, informed any place I could I had found this boy dog,and where to go to claim him.....day 1 turned into a week, into 2 weeks, into a month..finally someone wanted him, though not original owners, they still wanted him,we knew them and thought,ok,and off went Scooter,as I had called him, but, well that was short lived, for,I was really missing the guy,and seemingly,so were all the other pets,I told my husband,go get him back, and he returned the next day....we never knew his real age, though,by the doctors best guess, when we found him,he was well over 10 years old.....that was about 94...we moved to AZ in 1999,and about a month after we moved there,he has his first seizure,I was in a near panic...we took him to the vet,and was told he had a bad heart and overly enlarged liver that was actually pushing agianst the ribs......he did well for several months,no siezure, then he would have another, this went on for another year,no indication when, the last one was very bad,in the middle of the night,a weekend....after bringing him out of that,he was in alot of pain, but,we could not do anything till the next day.....it was very hard seeing him in so much pain,we could not even touch him,he just laid on our bed, finaly monday morning came, after much coaxing and being very careful,I managed to pick him up,and we made the drive to release his aching body...... him and Peanut are back together....

Forums Motto: I was lost once...but then I found..luv.
