Arrival Story:
growing up at home,my sister wanted a dog...eyeroll..well for the 1st few months great,then the new and fun wore off....it became a chore......one that suddenly became my job to feed,bath anything,like I minded...lol....anyhow,,I had moved away and down the road,had returned to that town....I was married and one day,made a visit,there was Sasha,my sister had deserted her,and the rest of the family were not animal people,this dog,in the brutal heat,would try to find shade anyplace she could,scrap wood piles,under a car,and old discarded tv cabinet,that served as a home...day in,day out...they asked me if I would take her,with them giving me, food for her care..I didn't want the food,but I did take her,took me hours to wash the motor oil off her white coat......I ended up going through a divorce,and met up with who would be my husband for the next 18 years.....we took Sasha and moved to California,where we worked together.....and eventually got Lucy,....
One day at work,as I was walking her in the morning,a dog out of no where came,I knew trouble was coming,so I picked her up and put her on my shoulder,that dog,jumped up,bit me through the hand,jumped up a second time,and ripped Sasha out of my hands,flung her around like a rag doll,till we finally managed to beat the dog off her,sasha limbered away back to the office,where she ran under a chair,and me,a few seconds behind her in tears screaming,where is Sasha,they in the office asked what happened,seeing both of us a bloody mess,I scouped Sasha up,as we raced for the car,,,straight to ER for her......she stayed a week in ICU,and finally came home,where we had to continue her care flushing out 18 drain tubes,and then apply heat to soothe her.....she lived.....though now she suffered with that trauma,and later,pain in her back joints..... eventual,age claimed Sasha,she was pushing her 19 years of life.....what a wonderful dog she was....will never forget my sweet Sasha.....
