Nicknames: My people like to call me things like bunny, Monkey Lips, Lily pants, Lily-san, and Lily Goat that's just because I will eat anything I can get my lips on.
Doggie Dynamics:
Today our mom took us to a new dog park with our neighbor dog Bob. Our neighbor Bob ,the chihuahua dachshund mix, let us visit him in his house. We love his person Alan who gave us attention and then we all went to a dog park! There were lots of dogs there, and people to visit and lots & lots of smells.
We had a great time there because it has a huge open field. As soon as we saw the dogs we dashed in. We met a pointer who ran with us in circles and a nice black lab who wanted to play with us more than she wanted to chase her ball. I chased Angus and my frisbee until I was exhausted, all sorts of people threw the frisbee for me. I would drop the frisbee at the person's feet and the person would throw it, they were so well trained! We met a frisbee obsessed dog named Mathilda who let us chase her around with her frisbee and get attention from her person. Angus wrestled and played with another terrier type.
I drank out of the communal bowl and then peed right into it :o) I was smiling ear to ear when we left.
Yesterday while my mom was away I ate my her flip flops (they were her new ones of course) but I did share them with Angus and it kept us VERY quiet until dad discovered what we were up to. When mom came home she took us on a walk after she dug around for some old flip flops to wear. When we pooped she knew we didn't just chew the flip flops we ate them - you know "waste not want not".
We found some blackberries on our walk and they were very good. Mom picked some for us and only Angus would eat them. I showed mom that I know how to pick them and I like to do it myself. She told me I might have to pick a lot of berries in order to make up for the flip flops though. After our walk mom made a salad and she shared carrots and sugar snap peas with us! Angus will eat anything mom gives him, I am more selective but I love carrots and sugar snap peas.
After a long hard day I settled down to chew the heel off of dad's sneakers. I like to chew the best things under the coffee table because it's hard for the people to see me under there. Mom caught me again :( and she stole dad's shoe from me. Then dad picked up ALL the shoes from the floor. Mom asked me why I started chewing shoes all of a sudden after going through puppyhood without it and I just gave her the sad eyes - but she didn't give me back the shoe.
People are so hard to train.
So, Mom has stopped studying all the time and we have been very busy.
My favorite adventure yet happened when we went to a place where our dad disappears, the people call it work – then our mom took us on a four-hour epic adventure. We walked to our favorite dog park and then mom threw the Frisbee for us. I am really fast and I get the Frisbee then Angus lies in wait on his belly to ambush me and we play tug-o-war. Next Angus met a new pal a pittie named Abby. She was a big girl with her ribs showing and she ran and chased Angus. I got a little jealous so I charged her snarling a few times and then mom said I needed an “aerial time out” that’s when she holds me up in the air until I calm down a bit. She played Frisbee with me so Angus & Abby could play. Abby’s mom told us that she just rescued Abby who was bred, had a litter of puppies and was left to die. She was really nice to Angus and her best friend is a shih tzu so she knows how to play with small dogs. She tried to follow us but her mom stopped her.
When we got to our river spot there were two people there and they had a little Chihuahua mix named Naya that liked Angus but not me. Her dad barked at her when she was mean cause I was not doing anything. I went swimming and ate some mud when mom wasn’t looking. There was a boy there I tried to jump on but he knew my word “off”. We kept walking and after much sniffing we were back at dad’s work. Mom brought him something called a coconut bliss coffee milkshake, she always says that it’s “not good for dogs” but I think she’s fooling us. All we got was water and the guy at the coffee place forgot to give us dog treats ☹, the pretty lady of the coffee shack NEVER forgets to give us treats and say how cute we are.
We walked over a bridge to an area where my mom says we become wild dogs. The grass is kinda long and me & Angus run in circles. I chase him and he tries to evade me. I heard mom laughing until I rolled in goose poop in my new collar. The collar has pink monkeys on it because mom says I am her little monkey. My mom hates it when we roll in goose poop cause it’s so stinky and takes more than one bath to come off but if she really understood us she would know it is a very alluring scent for our fellow canines. I found a new way into the river and Angus and I raced along the bank and took a dip. After we were wild dogs and got to wrestle we walked along the river downtown and met a lady named Beagle. She wanted to meet us as much as we wanted to meet her and we got some good attention. She didn’t care that we were stinky she said that we made her day! Our walk ended with another trip into the river where the ducks hang out. We had a quickie bath and slept for hours . . . I wish mom was always on vacation.
