Had surgery

I had to have surgery yesterday...and my ear is so sore! I had a hematoma come up and daMomma says the knot is the size of her fist. I was so scared at the vet's office, but a sweet lady named Miss Arlene took very good care of me until DaMomma came to get me. She says Miss Arlene is my Guardian Angel. Anyway, I have stitches in my ear, my face is still swollen, and I feel yucky. DaMomma stayed home with me today to make sure I'm going to be ok. She loves me very much. I go back in two weeks to get stitches taken out. I can't wait! DaMomma says she'll know I'm feeling better when I'm back to my sassy little self...

It's been a while since my 'Secretary' has made a diary entry for me. We have been attending Obedience classes, again, like she thinks I need to behave myself! :-) Actually, they are exciting and I am learning all kinds of things! We have a lot of other doggies in my class and it's fun, but tiring. I love showing off for DaMomma. She says she is proud of me no matter what. I love DaMomma.

Session with the Animal Communicator

At the Waggin Trails, Ivy Mae and I spoke for several minutes with an Animal Communicator named Shannon.

Shannon started out saying that Ivy thinks her name should actually be “Macy”, but that she understands that ‘Ivy Mae’ is a family name and is important to me, and it makes her feel special. She doesn’t mind being called ‘MaeMae’ and thinks it’s cute.

Shannon said that Ivy doesn’t want people to feel sorry for her because of her past trauma and seeing her scars. She said that everyone has obstacles to overcome and Ivy wants to be an inspiration to those she meets, not receive pity, and put the past behind her. She said that it took her attack to get her former people to understand that she was not meant to be with them. Ivy also said that she wants to go to the schools with me to give talks on rescue because she likes kids (I did not tell the AC that I do this). Ivy said that it really hurt bad when she first came to live with me because of the surgery and tube in her side, and that it still sometimes hurts, but that it feels good when I massage her all over and she likes that because it helps work the soreness out. She also likes sleeping underneath of the covers with me and says that it makes her feel close to me when she lays with her belly up against me.

She said that Ivy wanted to put on her apron and work for the needy animals, and it would make her feel like she was helping them out in her own way. (I had brought the “Donation Dog” vest, but did not tell the AC about this)

She said she saw a fawn female who has passed onto the Bridge (Piggy) and Ivy told her that when she was attacked, she had crossed over briefly and had met Piggy. She said that Piggy sent her to me to help heal my broken heart because she knew how very much I love her, and she wanted another puggy girl to feel that same love. According to Ivy, Piggy did an extensive interview with her and was very selective, very specific that Ivy was THE one she wanted to send to me. She was handpicked (pawpicked?) by Piggy. She said that Ivy could help heal the hurt and we could all forever be bonded.

Ivy asked that I have a talk with Molly Grace about her growling at her. She said Molly did not like another female being brought into her house, and that I should explain to her that Ivy is now “family” and she just wants to be accepted. She said that Molly growls at her when they are eating and Ivy doesn’t like that. I asked Shannon to explain to her that Molly makes noises when she’s eating, but she said that Ivy was specific and insisted that Molly was growling. She also said that someday soon, she would like a little brother to play with because she misses playing with Barney. She said that Barney had to go live with a man, and that it was ok because he was a man’s dog.

Ivy said she is happy in her forever home and loves her family very much.

Official Name Change...

DaMomma has had me working with a Trainer to overcome some of my "issues" from my previous life. The Trainer told her most definitely she should have changed my name when she got me, as this signifies a "new name, new life" and has psychological affects. She said I may associate "Chloe" with all of the bad stuff that happened to me before. DaMomma didn't know this, although she did know from working in rescue that this is the 'theory' as it were. So, with much consideration, she has decided to give me a new name and is learning to use it. She said she had always wanted a little female black pug (me!) and wanted to name her "Ivy Mae" after dagreat-grandma's sister...(she likes "Pearl" too, but said that is too old sounding for me cause I'm not yet 3 years old!) Upon the advice of my Trainer and new friend, my new name is now Ivy Mae!! I hope you all like it...seems I'm stuck with it. :-)

Doggy Day Care~

Well, Tuesday and Thursday this week, I got to go to Doggy Day Care. My friend, Gracie Baker, was there, and the lady who runs the program told DaMomma that Gracie and I ran and played together all day long, and that when we caught a quick powernap, Gracie put her head over on me to rest. DaMomma is thinking it will be good socialization for me to be with other doggies and to learn to play. I'm working with my obedience class teacher on manners as well. It's no fun being a little lady...that mischiefness is wanting to come out! Anyway, I'm liking Doggy Day Care and hope to get to go back next week.

I also went to my Vet's office last Friday and again on Saturday. I had to get shots both days, and THAT really was no fun! He said my fur is looking beautiful (well, duh!) and that I'm doing great.

Well, DaMomma took me back to the vet for a checkup. He said my skin is looking much better, but it's still itching! He said to continue to do what we're doing and give it time.

DaMomma also found me a pretty dressie to wear to the Valentine Ball. It's red, so shows up pretty on me! I feel so pretty when I'm wearing it. I also have a secret pal that I'm supposed to meet at the Ball! I think he's a cutie! We are very much alike...

Yesterday, the mailman brought me such a surprise!! My dress from Critterblingonline FINALLY arrived!! I have been watching for daMailman all week long to bring me my dress...I was getting very impatient with him and ready to bite him on the shin. I love my new dress!! And, Molly Gracie got a surprise too! We have matching sister dresses!! Mommy said we will need to save them for a very special occasion to wear them together. I get to wear mine to the vet tomorrow when I go in for my checkup. I got to wear it around the house today and feel sooooo pretty!! Thank you Princess Vala V's Mommy for making me such a beautiful dressie! I love it!!! Now, I am truly a foofoo girlie girl. (not that I mind Molly Grace's hand-me-downs, but it's nice to have my very own dress, made especially for me only!)
