Arrival Story:
On October 11th, my vet's office called me about a black female pug that had been attacked by a pitbull for the second time. The Owner surrendered Chloe to his care. He called me and asked if I would take her. After hearing her story, how could I say "no"? So, on my lunchbreak, I went over to see her, took her a toy and baby blanket to have something soft and warm to snuggle on. Even with her injuries, her little tail was wagging and she was giving kisses. That was it! I told them to do whatever she needed, and I'd help with the bill. I picked her up on Saturday morning. As of this writing, her treatment and healing are ongoing. We hope she will be well soon and that she knows she will never be kept outside again or have anything to fear. (updates in her Dogster diary) Chloe has extensive scaring from a previous pitbull attack. She has scars across her back, on her belly, and a portion of her muscle on her rear left leg is missing. I recently learned that she was not as old as we had thought and the first attack took place when she was barely 6 months old. This little girl has suffered greatly, but her spirit continues to shine, and we are going to make sure she never knows such pain ever again!
