Coale loves to play ball, go for runs and walks, and loves being loved.
Coale does not trust people right away. He does not like loud noises. Coale hates the vacuum and will bite the bag EVERYTIME!!! Coale hates leashes and kitchen floors. He is trying to get over some bad memories.
His ball. He has learned how to catch and fetch.
Coale loves dog food, green beans, and fresh veggies.
Coale loves our runs and walks around the Community Center by our home.
Coale is learning tricks now. He has overcome his fear of stairs!
Coale belonged to my friend, Midge, who died of terminal cancer. Prior to becoming Midge's best friend and companion, Coale lived in an abusive home. He was thrown down stairs, his leg was broken, he was chained up in the kitchen, and beaten. He found true compainship and unconditional love when Midge adopted him. He is now doing very well and playing and enjoying life!
Coale was born on Sept. 5, 2002 in Amboy, IL.

Hi all my Dogster friends!
If you recall, when my Mom first got me, I was very afraid of so many things since I had been abused as a pup. Well, with a lot of love and hard work, I can now proudly tell you all that I fear nothing! My Mom has shown me that she will never allow me to be hurt again. I have my forever home and each day is a day to celebrate that I got away from the people who chained ke to the kitchen cabinets and beat me. I have been blessed at least 3 times. First, when my groomer, Sheila, noticed I was abused and got me a new home away from the abusers. Second, when I got my Mom Midge who passed away due to cancer. Thirdly, my biggest blessing was finding my now forever home almost 3 years ago with my Mom Mary.
I have learned how to trust, play ball, and act like a big dog although I am not that big!
I am hoping any pet who is suffering in an abusive home will be blessed and find that there is happiness and someone who will love you.
I did it...so can you!!!

My name is Coale and I am a 5 year old toy poodle. I am a very lucky dog. Please let me tell you my story.
When I was just a pup, I was given a home and I was treated very badly. The people did not like me, I guess, but they hurt me a lot. I was saved from this abuse and a very sweet lady named Midge adopted me. She took great care of me and I took great care of me. My Midge died in August. I was always there and knew when it was time for bed when I heard the oxygen machine beep 3 times when Midge turned it on in the bedroom. I was a very nervous dog when Midge got me, but I got better and better all the time. I learned that there are people who can be trusted and will not hit me. I used to cower and go low to the ground anytime someone came near me because I expected a beating.
Midge helped me get better. She fed me good things and let me be part of her life. She walked me and defended me. She gave me lots of love.
Well, now that my Mom Midge has gone to the rainbow bridge for people, Mary, (who was always my Midge's friend and used to visit us and give me massages), has adopted me. She is in good health and we have so much fun. She is teaching me to do all kinds of tricks. We take runs and walks! I am learning how to fetch the ball and catch it too!
I still get scared of new people. Sometimes, I cower. Mommy Mary tells me whether or not it is okay and I trust her so much. She bought me fancy bandanas and I wear one each day. Today, I am wearing my purple one! She trusts me and I adore her!
So, if you know of any little or big dog who is in a bad situation like I was, please help him or her out! We deserve to have fun and be happy. Mommy Mary always says, "Never ever hit your dog!". She is the greatest.
I hope I meet a lot of pup friends on dogster.
