I came to live with my mom, in February of 1996. Some people had left me and three siblings in a box, at a local gas station. It was cold, but the guy who owned the station called my mom first, 'cause he knew how muchshe loved dogs. Plus, one of her dogs had died a few months before.

When she first saw me, I put my legs around her neck, and she took me home right then! I was only a small ball of fur, about 7 weeks old. Oh, and all of my brothers and sisters got good homes, too!

I loved being at my moms! I loved to run, and would try to run down the road. Mom said that wasn't safe, that there was plenty of room to run on her 9 acres!
So, she got Invisible Fence and trained me to stay at home, so I wouldn't get hurt on the road. It was okay if SHE took me for walks down the road, but I had to stay on a leash to do that.

I loved going in the car for rides!! I wasn't crazy about the vet, but got used to it, 'cause I'd always get treats, which I loved!

Mom said I was her favorite, her baby, and she spoiled me a lot! I was sad when Jackson died, but mom let me say goodbye to him, and he is resting by Mom's garden, now.

In July of 2007, I'd just had my annual checkup at the vet, and my bath and grooming; I looked beautiful!

Less than a month later, when I didn't come up for supper, my mom found me by the magnolia tree, where I had died. Looking down, I could tell that she was VERY sad!!! No one had thought I was sick, just maybe a little overweight, but that was all.
Then, about a week later, my mom's vet called her and said that my checkup showed some possible cancer 'hiding out', he said. My mom was still so sad, but the doctor said that I probably did her a favor; that a long illness would have been hard on us both.
I loved my mom SO MUCH, but I know that I will see her again, on the other side. She gave me a beautiful resting place, right next to my friend Jackson, and put a really cool marker with my picture on it, for everyone to see.

I am glad that my mom is going to get another puppy, soon. She's a great mom, and needs lots of 'kids' at her house.

I don't feel sad for myself, cause I'm here with all my friends, and I know that I'll see my human buddies again, when it's their time to come here. My mom wrote this on my marker:

Ginger Bezemer
December 1995 ~ August 25, 2007

In my heart I’ll always love you
In my soul you live forever.
We will walk together again, on the other side
In brighter fields
Among singing flowers
