new toy!

Mom and Dad went to TSC yesterday and bought us this awesome rope toy! man is it huge! dad says it weighs a good 10 pounds and must have at least 50 ft of rope on it....do ya think it will last longer than a week? probably not with bela and kirby around...they have destroyed more rope toys than you can imagine...I still can't figure out how they get the knots out of the ends...guess that is something I have to work on..bol
I got into some major trouble on Sunday....dad bought all of us a beef puff to chew on and when Evan sat next to me I bit him, then I snapped at Nick...holy crap was dad mad!!!!he grabbed me by the back of the neck and was yelling at me..I was so scared. them mom intervened and told dad to knock it off that wasn't going to teach me anything..... so I had to lay down on the floor while the boys took turns taking my chewie away and if I got snappy mom and the boys would flip me over on my back and hold me there until I submitted. then yesterday mom tried to take away my bone and I snapped at her hand....not good...all of a sudden I was on my back again and told to "no bite" and then she took my bone away for a while. when she gave it back and then tried to take it I let her this time....I don't like being flipped on my back. she also told dad that the little boys would be feeding me from now on...guess I need to know that I am at the bottom of the pecking order and the little boys are above me and not some toys I can bite and be naughty to.

walk!

today since it was kind of nice in the morning...mom took me out for my first real walk! we went a couple of blocks and mom says I did really well for my first time with her! we met some new people...it is amazing how puppies bring out the friendliness in people we don't know..... I was kind of shy and didn't go up to people right away.....must be the GSD in me. so mom is thinking these walks are going to have to happen all the time now so I get more socialization. she also is teaching me the commands "halt" and "heel" and since I am not quite getting it...she is going to take daddy (kirby) along with us the next time so he can show me what to do.

Lilly and other news....

lilly will be going home with Leena on Sunday and then heading down to Texas to live on an Army base once her husband returns from Iraq! I wish them all the best in their new adventures and many years of happiness!!

News about Jaeger who has been renamed by his new owners to Buddy...perfect name for my sweet boy! he is doing great in his new home and adjusting well. he even has new friends.....cats! and is doing great with them. I am so glad all is working out for him and his new family!

I have changed the primary photo to that of Diesel now....the Ooops litter has all gone on to new homes. Diesel will be staying in our home so this is now his page. I will still keep everyone posted on all the pups through this page.

To all the families that have taken on one of the Ooops litters pups..thankyou! I hope they all bring you many years of joy. I am sure going to miss the stampede of puppy paws through the house....

Lucy...

Lucy just went to her new home today! I hope she brings many years of happiness to Leo and his family! It is so hard to see them go...but I know they are with good families and will be loved.

Jaeger

Jaeger has gone to his new home today...it was so hard giving him away. yup you guessed it I cried. of all the pups he became my favorite and I will miss him terribly. I hope he enjoys his new home and family and shows it through the devotion I know he is capable of...Good bye my sweet boy...I will miss you! enjoy your new family and show them what a loyal dog you are!

Merry Christmas!

The pups and I would like to wish eveyone a merry christmas!!! today Jaeger and Diesel went for a ride in the truck to go see great-grandma in the nursing home. They were a big hit! gram came out of her shell for a while and loved Jaeger up a bit. it was amazing he just sat in front of her wheel chair and let her rub him for a good 15 minutes before he decided to go check out her room. on the way out they both were the topic of conversation by all of the nurses and residents and we spent some time walking the pups up to some of the residents so they could rub them....what a wonderful experience!! puppies sure have a way of bringing a smile to people. I hope our visit made their day! because it sure made mine!!!

CRAZY BUTTON!!

we have discovered that the pups have a ''crazy-button" as I like to call it. all the labs that I have owned since a kid have had this "button". something will set them off (usually each other...lol) and they will run around the kitchen chairs and the living room at top puppy speed with their butts down low, ears pulled back and a labbie smile on their faces. it is hilarious!!! sometimes Bela joins in the chase and it sounds like a herd of cattle stampeding through the house! lol
the girls have also discovered the comfort of furniture! they will jump up on the sofa and try and take a snooze. so I am constantly taking them off and telling them "floor". I don't want to encourage a bad habit for their new owners so I am being extra careful. that is for their new owners to decide.
we no longer keep paper on the kitchen floor during the day. I have gotten them into a routine now that they go outside to go potty! I have only had one accident so far! wooohooo! though I still put paper down at night. everyone is sleeping through the night in the kitchen. my intention was to have them in the crate at night, but miss bela is being naughty with the christmas tree and eating my ornaments again so she is back in the kennel at night. so they sleep next to the kennel on their blanket or in the hallway with Kirby.

Daisey....

our sweet little daisey has found a new home! she will be going home with Kelly on December 24th. Santa realized that Jake has been a very good boy this year and deserves the puppy he has always wanted for so long. I wish them many years of happiness!


Jaeger"miester" my sweet boy will not be going home with Kathy, she has changed her mind.....to bad, she is going to miss out on an awesome dog!! he has the most serene nature. I placed an ad for him on kijiji.com. hoping to find a home for him with a family that has a special needs child or who is willing to advance his education in CGC or therapy work. he has so many exceptional qualities that would make him a wonderful therapy dog.

lilly and Lucy are still here too....those two are so much fun to watch when they play. lilly will stalk her sister and pounce! and both girls are now asking to go outside to go potty!!!

Christmas day we are planing to take Jaeger and Diesel to the nursing home to visit my 96 yr old grandmother and some of the other residents. we will see how they react. if they are anything like kirby I will have nothing to worry about...kirbs loves to go visiting grandma!!!! the last time we were there he just sat in front of an older man and put his head on his lap. I have a feeling Jaeger will do the same.

jaeger....and the girls

jaeger was suppose to go to his new home a little over a week ago....as of today he is still with us. I have tried contacting Kathy to see what is going on and if she still wants him, but as of yet I have received no calls from her!! I don't like to do this but today I am calling with an ultimatum...either you come and get him or I find a new home for him (personally I would love to keep him, but 4 big dogs at our house is not possible). out of all of the pups he has the sweetest most serene disposition and would make an EXCELLENT therapy dog or CGC. he has kirby's intelligence and calmness in the right situations and is remarkable with Nick my young son with down syndrome.

as for the girls (lilly, lucy and daisey) they are getting big and doing great! we still haven't found homes for them yet and I am getting a bit worried, but I know all will work out in the end for them. these girls love to play!!!! and chase each other around the kitchen and living room, it is a joy to watch them. especially when they 'stalk' kirby! though daisey has learned a hard lesson...you don't stalk your daddy and grab ahold of his ears...lol she found her entire head in his mouth and pinned to the floor! (don't worry he would never hurt her, he just told her who was the boss). I give Kirby a lot of credit...he tolerates so much from all the pups and somehow instinctively knows when he needs to descipline them and when to let stuff 'slide' lol these girls I hope go to active homes with loving owners. I don't see them as the type to just lay around the house all day

I found out this week that Eva and Beau (aka t-bone) are doing FANTASTIC in their new homes and have adjusted well!!!! Eva the little potty princess I have heard has only had 2 accidents in the past week and a half! you go girl!!! quite amazing if you think about it...she is only 8 weeks old!!! she really did inherit kirby's intelligence!

petfinder..........

I am trying all avenues to find loving homes for lilly, lucy, and Daisey. from flyer's to newspaper ads to even putting an ad on petfinder. I have come to the conclusion that petfinder contains a lot of scammers! so far I have received 4 emails from ''people'' who want to scam me and this is very disheartening. I love these little girls and will not send them to just anyone!!! it really is a sad that there are so many people in this world who would be so dishonest and exploit others. petfinder I thought was set up to do good, but because of these types of people it makes me wonder why they even bother. I am not a rescue group...just a person who would like to see her pups go to loving homes and be cherished by their new families....is that so hard in this day and age? damn!!
