Arrival Story:
Chippy (formerly "Tippy") had a bad bout with diarrhea and vomiting while at the Humane Society at three months of age. He was also lethargic and wouldn't eat. However, the symptoms were treated in due time and they soon cleared up and he has been better ever since. Yet, he would remain in the care of the Humane Society until October 11, 2007 when his mother came to adopt him and he started life in his new forever home with his sister Lola.

Bio:
He went through basic obedience school while at the Humane Society and knowing "sit," "lie," "down," and "roll over." Then he began to be sort of our "obedience" project. Added to his repertoire of tricks is: "come," "crawl," "bring me _____," "where is ____?" (and he looks for that person/item), "bang!" (and he drops down dead), "hop," "beg," "jump," and "speak."

Please please please everyone... especially Tennessee bully pups..... be aware that legislation has been introduced into the Tennessee state legislatures making it a Class A misdemeanor to own a "pit bull" or any dog considered 50% "pit bull" mix! Please see the dogster legislation board for more info.. thanks!!!!

Good news, bad news

Bad news first, teehee..

Why is nothing in life free? I don't know, either! Don't ask me! But apparently mommy says that NILIF (nothing in life is free) is best for my sister and I so that's what we'll be starting shortly. Needless to say I'm not too happy about it! I don't see what is wrong with dogs ruling the house! Check out my sister's diary.. she listed the regiment.. and everything is the same but the meal portions. (I eat 1/2 more cup of kibble than she does)

But mommy says that after we get fully settled into NILIF, then we'll begin clicker training. I'm kind of excited to see what new behaviors we'll learn! Both my sister and I know sit, stay, down, etc.. but mommy wants to revisit them and add hang signals along with the verbal command so that if we can't hear her (because of a car or whatever) then we will know the hand signal. Cool stuff, huh?

I think my mommy might even be teaching my sister basic German commands after she masters her English ones.. should be funny!! BOL

Now for the good news!

I might be the subject of my little mommy's (my big mommy's sister) school science project. She was to do an experiment on how smart dogs are! Since I tend to be better at "problem solving" than my sister is, then we're gonna look-up neat little mental stimulus excercises and then create some of our own and see if I can do them! Hopefully her teacher approves the topic.. :-)
