Arrival Story:
I went to the Birmingham Humane Society and looked at all of the puppies there. I saw Zach but he had not seen me. I immediately thought that he was adorable but knowing that I was in an apartment I thought he was going to be too big. While I was watching him I noticed that he was really quiet while several people walked past his cage. Finally, I walked past his cage and he started barking at me and became all excited. I walked on past his cage and watched him some more....he was quiet...not a peep when others walked past his cage...I walked past his cage again. He started barking, became all happy and excited again. He had picked me out of the crowd! I decided at that point he must know that we were meant to be. I took him home and he has been a spoiled, happy basset ever since!
Bio:
I suspect that someone that loved him took very good care of him at some point before he ended up at the Human Society. He been trained with several commands and house trained before I took him home....somehow he must have been separated from that loving family and then ended up with another family that didn't love him as much. The humane society said his family brought him in and said that he was "intolerable". He was quite sick, was missing hair and only weighed 31 pounds. He is now a very very healthy 65 pounds :) With a beautiful coat and he is not intolerable - he is a beautiful boy with plenty of luv to share!
