The Thing! II

I haven’t seen the saxamaphone thing in a while. Needless to say, this means I haven’t had a chance to kill it yet. I know where Daddy keeps it. One day I tried to get it out so that I could destroy it, but there’s some sort of latch on it that I can’t get open. I think it’s made just to keep doggies out. No one else seems to have troubles with it. I think that I’m safe from it for the time being. Mommy and Daddy haven’t talked about in recently. But just in case, I make sure that my hiding place in the bathtub is still there. Every so often I go and hang out in there. It’s really pretty comfy, I think that all dogs should try it. So for now, I’m just waiting…preparing for when the saxamaphone resurfaces. I’ve got a plan, and backup plans, I’ve got those too. I’ll be ready….

The Thing!

There is a horrible thing living in my house. Apparently it’s been there the entire time!! It’s awful, I’ve never seen anything like it, it smells funny, and makes these horrible noises. Daddy calls it a saxamaphone, claims that it’s some sort of musical instrument. But I don’t think so. Seems to be something to torture doggies with. Just the sight of it makes me go crazy.

The first time I heard it, I didn’t know what to do, I couldn’t get away from that sound, it seemed to be in the entire house and it was LOUD! So I started running and running, but not like I had the puppies, that’s the fun kind of running, this was different. I went everywhere, no where was safe. I found Mommy on the other side of the house, it was a little quieter there, but then Daddy came to that side of the house to see where I was. And he brought the horrible thing with him. So I got in the shower and tried to hide. And instead of making the noise stop, they just laughed at me! Next I tried to hide in the corner underneath a barstool, but that didn’t work either. Even my kennel wasn’t safe from the evil saxamaphone! Then I decided to try the bathtub. I tried to be really quiet so that no one would know where I was. But Mommy heard a thump when I got in and came to investigate. At first I thought she might not find me. When she came in everything looked normal, the shower curtain was closed and everything. But she’s pretty smart, when she pulled back the curtain, there I was. She laughed at me and said it looked like was ready to take a shower. Daddy stopped “playing” and came to look at me. They decided to let me stay there while Daddy played and it was sooo much better. The noise was still awful, but I was safe…for the moment.

I thought that it was over after that first day. Surely no one actually wants to hear that sort of thing. But I was wrong! Apparently humans like those kinds of noises. So for the past few days I’ve had to endure this horrible torture. I’m getting used to it. I don’t like it, but I can stand it now. Daddy let me sniff the thing yesterday. I saw that as my chance to take care of the noise forever, I tried to be sneaky and started by licking it and then I was going to chomp down and eat it! It didn’t work though, Dad knew I might try something like that and he was ready. He told me to LEAVE IT! He was really loud too. So I was good and let the thing live. But one day, I’m going to get my revenge, one day…

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! I'm three! I get to go to the pet store tonight and pick out my presents! I already know that I'm getting doggie ice cream tonight. And this weekend we're going to go to the dog park.

Shopping list for tonight:
A new squishy octopus, and some greenies, and a new pillow, and one of those toys with the replaceable squeakers, and a bigger doggie pool, and a frisbee, and some peanut butter cookies, and some pig ears, and some greenies, and a wiggly giggly, and a football, and some of those bacon tasting things, and one of those funny shaped tennis ball, and a new rope for tug, and, and, and...

Hmm, we might need to bring two cars...
