Arrival Story:
My hubby and I were looking for a dog online from local rescues. He wanted a Giant Schnauzer and I wanted some sort of collie. I saw Charlotte on petfinder, and I just couldn't get over her big blue beautiful eyes. I really liked her, but we couldn't come to terms over the type of dog we wanted. Finally one weekend a couple months later, we were looking again, and saw that she was still up for adoption. We decided to have my husband stop and look at her. Well, it was love at first sight! Despite the fact that she was skinny as a rail, her hair was falling out in clumps, and she smelled horrible, we decided then that we just had to have her. So we put in our application and waited. The next day, they called back and said we could have her if we wanted her, but we needed to decided right away, because she had already been there for over two months and they were going to euthanize her if no one adopted her in the next couple days. So we took her home a couple days later, and she became our new family member.

Charlotte's a champion chewer with an extremely sensitive stomach. She's come a long way from the shy, cowering, pacing dog that she was when we got her. She's become much more outgoing and relaxed. She's currently working hard on getting her Dog Scout Certification.

Forums Motto:
Charlotte, the Champion Chewer

Things I've chewed::
Carpet & Padding - I destroyed an entire bedroom full. I'm thinking about taking up demolition work. Doorknobs - If you'd just let me out! Blinds - Chewed those clean in half. They were obstructing the view! Buster Cube - I thought there were still more treats inside. Plastic Buckles - What are these silly collar things anyway? Tennis Balls - what makes these things bounce so well? Curtains- I don't like things that get in my viewing path. Stuffed Animals- I like all the fluffy stuffing inside!

Life with my Sister

Athena and I have been sisters now for a little over 3 months. I love having a sister to play with and jump around with. I've taught her some cool stuff, like that the trash can has really tasty treats, and I've even learned some things from her, like how to jump up on the kitchen counter and get a snack for myself. Sometimes she really annoys me, but most of the time we get along really well. I've had to learn to share my toys and share my time with Mommy & Daddy, but I guess it's okay since she keeps me company when they're not home and she helps me to calm down in the car.

Oh boy.......err actually a girl! I'm getting a sister! Mom & Dad finally decided that I am ready to have a sister to play with and talk to! Mommy and Daddy found a very nice little Rottweiler mix at a local shelter and are bringing her home tomorrow. We got to meet and walk a little bit yesterday at the shelter, but I was kinda scared cause I don't like the shelter. It scares me. The shelter calls my new sister Roxanne, but Mom & Dad said that she doesn't look like a Roxanne, so her new name is going to be Athena. I'm so excited for my sister to come home tomorrow! I hope she really really likes me and I really like her so we can be best friends.

Mommy and I went to the park yesterday for the Walk for Animals to raise money for the animal shelter. Mommy and I collected $386, and we won third place for the most donations! I had so much fun meeting the other dogs and but I was kinda scared, but Mommy helped me to relax and I felt much better. I never knew dogs came in so many sizes!
