Birthday:
August 14th 2007

Likes:
Chasing big brother Cooper, exploring everything, tasting everything, kissing everyone.

Pet-Peeves:
When Cooper won't play with him.

Favorite Toy:
Every toy Cooper ever had, has now or ever will have plus any you give him.

Favorite Food:
Cooper's food, ginger snaps, turkey, prime rib, Cheerios, fruit plus anything he can get hold of including rocks, sticks and bark mulch.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere in the yard.

Best Tricks:
Taking all the toys out of the big basket, sit, make like a grizzly bear.

Arrival Story:
After our wonderful dog, Jake, died in May, we finally made the decision to add another dog to our pack. It was easy to decide on another terrier, but it took several months to decide on which kind. Cairns were always in the top five. Four days ago we were "just going to see the puppies" at a local breeder. Well, heeeeeereeeeee's Jesse!

Bio:
Jesse isn't quite eight weeks old and we are amazed at how well he is learning potty training (and by the way, no crate). He's also figured out that if he sits by his bowls, we get the hint that he wants to eat. Although it's too early for treats and tricks, there are signs that this little guy is going to be a smart one.

Forums Motto:

Yes we had a great time in New Mexico. We spent almost all day at a crafts fair/farmers market in Las Cruces. Man, you have never seen so many chihuahuas! I bought a chili pepper bandana which all the chicas really liked. We took a little trip down to El Paso where I stole many more hearts at the El Paso Saddle Blanket Company. They had a big stuffed long horned cow which startled me. When I realized it was stuffed, I peed on its hoof. I don't think them Texans want me to come back. We went to the hot air balloon festival at White Sands. Seeing those balloons reminded me of an old family story, "The Cairn of Oz", my great uncle ToTo wrote that.

When we got home, mom had some sort of bug but I nursed her back to health. Then the computer got sick and it took some dumb geeks forever to fix it. Anyway, as you can see it's feeling better now too.

Just when I was all set to lay back on the veranda and enjoy the beautiful fall weather, the doorbell rang and in stepped this beautiful young little girl Cairn. It was the night before Halloween and she was very mysterious. I think she is a waswolf because she keeps bitting my neck. You might want to check out her website, just go above to my family and you'll see ANNIE OAKLEY my new little sister.

I've been back from our whirlwind vacation for over a week now and it's taken me this long to recover! Did we have fun or what???

* Painted Dessert: This is the greatest sandbox ever! Lots of rocks to climb on, smells to smell, and all those lovely piles of sand.

* Putrified Forest: Mom said all those old trees made of stone must have fallen over because some dog peed on them. Hmmm, I dunno.

* Monumental Valley: This is the most terrific place ever, more giant buttes and mesas than you could shake a stuffed toy at! It's absolutely a spectacular place, more spectacular than what I saw in movies.

* Valley of the Gods, Utah: Holy Cow!! and I mean that literaly. It was not only beautiful, but it's open range so we saw lots of cows.

One final note...we stayed in some swell hotels that let dogs in. So if you're ever thinking of going to these wonderful places, let me know and I'll give you some good tips.

Load up the wagons and head 'em out...

Oh boy, I'm going on vacation!! All the stuff we're taking is getting loaded onto the dining room table and the stack is growing. There's our special traveling dishes, dog treats, my favorite toys and my hoodie in case it's cold. My brother, Cooper, doesn't take toys. Says he's too old for that puppy stuff, but I see his "elder dog" energizer pills are on the table.
Cooper says we're headin' out for the Putrafied Forest, the Painted Dessert and Monumental Valley plus a little bit of Route 666. I haven't a clue as to what these places are, but I'm sure we are going to have fun especially when we get to some place called Mexican Hat. Cooper says you go there eat refried beans and dance around a sombrero. I don't know what that's all about either so stay tuned for my next diary entry!

I wonder if Mom will let me drive????
