Arrival Story: Ebony was an abandoned dog here on the streets of Baja California. I saw her one night hiding under a van near my apartment and so I took her a dog biscuit and the rest is history. We have been living together full time since May of 2007. A local vet aged her at the time at 10 or so months based on her teeth and she was coming into her first heat at the time. I had not been the keeper of a dog for some 18 years, and hadn't planned on it, but she had me pegged from the very first night.
Bio: In Mexico there are countless stray animals and for varying reasons. Dogs in particular are being brought into the family units as members and not just guard dogs, but most dogs here are guard dogs. I am very certain Ebony was a beautiful puppy and captured the heart of her previous owners, but like all animals she grew up, and perhaps became a handful. Based on certain behaviors she is a 'reactive' dog. I had no idea what a 'reactive' dog was until I started reading more. Overall, we have done well together, but we need work :) Her favorite time is at the beach chasing seabirds and playing with other dogs. She loves rides in the car, walks, playing ball, and lounging around.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
well the nice phone man came today and so we have phone and internet service. dad is sad today because one of our furry friends had to be put down the other day. he just got the news today. it is the shepherd in the photos on the beach with me. dad doesn't know all the details yet but will fill us all in later. he knew she was sick but didn't think it was that serious. we'll be back with more later.
well the move is complete in that dad brought all our things from the old place, that said, the new place is a MESS. there are boxes and stuff in nearly every corner (except on my bed of course) and dad says he'll start putting things away today. we'll see. i don't have a lot of faith in him today he looks real tired. even at the beach today he would not play ball with me he just walked along and i had to entertain myself of all things. the nerve. BOL
well anyway, we're still using the net cafe for now because dad hasn't gone to have the phone turned on yet. that will be for another day.
well hope you are all enjoying your day and dad promises to have photos of the new place up some day soon.
at least that is what dad keeps saying in regard to our move. i am fully into the new place, but we haven't got all the furniture yet and dad says that is coming next week or so. it is hard for us right now because i haven't found the right spot for my bed since we're sharing a bedroom now and the same with where i eat. dad says once things are all in place and i pick a spot for eating and sleeping then the rest will be fine. i haven't taken to using my yard for anything other than laying in the sun and playing fetch with dad. dad says when push come to shove i might need to use the yard to go to the bathroom (can you imagine?). overall things are good and this is just a brief update since dad doesn't have the internet connected yet and we have to use a net cafe. well toodles and i hope all of you are well.
