Leave a bone for Grey Misty Morning

Nicknames: Misty, Misty Rayne, Ubu, Buttercup

Quick Bio:
Likes: sleeping on her favorite chair, going fishing in the boat, playing with the dog at my moms, and she's starting to like her Kong

Pet-Peeves: little kids picking on her, being woken up, having her undercoat pulled out

Favorite Toy: She's not big on toys but she's showing some interest in her Kong, she loves the fish her dad pulls out of the pond

Favorite Food: steak, cooked to perfection on the grill, she whines everytime I put a piece into my mouth, I obviously am not worthy

Favorite Walk: the creek near our house, the river at her grandpa's house or the pond at her grandma's house

Best Tricks: she knows a lot of commands but not so many tricks, we are working on sit pretty though.

Arrival Story: I am a poster on the www.craigslist.com pet board and one day a fellow poster, Lynn, posted a picture of her and said that she wanted her but was far away (CA) and couldn't have another dog anyway. I always wanted a husky but had stopped looking since I didn't have a large yard. Misty was scheduled to be PTS on Friday and so far no one else had shown much interest in her. I asked where the dog was and the Lynn said she was in Ohio. I live 10 minutes from Ohio so we showed a huge interest in her. Lynn put me in touch with her other guardian angel, Mark and on the day she was scheduled to be PTS we drove down to Columbus (about 3 hours) and picked her up.

Bio: Misty is the best dog ever. She is the calmest Sibe ever. I went to pick her up with the intention that she was going to be a little terror and if she did anything good that was going to be a plus. Misty came to us knowing her basic commands, fully housetrained and happy as can be. There was no rough adjustment period or anything. She fit right in. I've only had her for about a month but it feels like she's been here forever. My daughter is so happy to have a "real, live, SnowDog" !! I am overjoyed to have someone to spend the day with me when I am home alone and most of the day she lays right by me with her head on my foot.
Misty loves to go on car rides, which is a great thing since my mom lives 3 hours away and my dad 4. My mom has a huge place with a pond and a creek and lots of other dogs to play with. We recently spent a 2 weeks out there and Misty got to ride in the boat, dig in the dirt, run on her 200 foot zip line and play with all the other pups. While we were there we visited my dad and she got to chase the ducks, geese and swans on the river. She also found a great perching spot on my dad's picnic table.
I've never had a dog as smart as Misty. All you have to do is show her one thing and she remembers it forever. Before she goes outside she has to sit and wait for her line to be attached. Now when she wants to go out, she just sits in her place and waits. The same thing when she wants to eat. She sits in front of her bowl or rolls her Kong over to my foot then sits and looks at it.
This is my first dog as a REAL adult. I've worked with and trained many dogs before but never had one quite like her. It's like she has really become one of the pack. She eats with us and sleeps with us and plays with us and goes on vacation with us. It really is great. Everyone should have a Misty, but sorry guys, she's all mine!!
