 Quick Bio:
Likes: making his toys squeek, keeping a vigilant watch on the back yard, the sound of the greenies bag, smelling your breath, napping in the sunshine

Pet-Peeves: storm drains, anyone knocking at the door, walks in the rain, that dang harness mom makes me wear (it won't come off no matter how many times a day he tries to shake it off) george 'dubya' bush

Favorite Toy: anything with a squeaker! whichever squeak toy is newest

Favorite Food: greenies, canidae, treats from heidi's bakery

Favorite Walk: tall grass where he can "hunt", anywhere we might see a chipmunk, Glacier Ridge Metropark

Best Tricks: sit, stay, down, come (most of the time) and of course: kicking my feet into my own poop (mom screams!)

Arrival Story: Quinn was rescued as a pup. He came to us through Pam Peterson of Royal Kennels. She rocks!
check her out at: http://www.royalkennels.com/Resdog s.html

Bio: quinn's squeak toys drive him crazy! if they are squeaking under a blanket or in a sleeping bag (see pic) he can't stand it!
greeting mom and dad at the door ritual: quinn greets me by crouching down with his front paws straight out and his butt in the air. he'll crouch down, then jump back and spin in a circle and then crouch down again (repeat at least 3-4 times). if only everyone would be so happy to see me :)
quinn LOVES his backyard at our new house. he takes off like a shot when i open the backdoor for him and then leaps around the back yard like a gazelle for a few minutes. then it's nose-to-the-ground critter hunting.

Forums Motto: is it nap time yet?

we moved into a new house! it has been great because i have my very own BACKYARD! i have to watch the backyard all day long. this is a serious commitment on my part, but i'm willing to do it. my duty is to eradicate the chipmunk and rabbit problem we have. sometimes they taunt me when they see me behind the sliding glass door. nothing irritates me more! i cry and dance to tell mom and dad that i need to go outside to snap those critters' necks! in addition to having a backyard, i also have a bay window with a window seat to survey the front yard. this rocks. i know every little thing that goes on in the neighborhood. it's also pretty fun to go on our evening walks in the neighborhood. mom has begun insisting that i sit before crossing at intersections. i think this is a stupid request, but i give in occasionally.

today the air conditioning broke. mom and i are sweating until it gets fixed! i have been laying flat like a pancake all day. they are also doing some repair work to the exterior of the apartment. they have been banging for 3 days now. seriously, how am i supposed to get the 18 hours of quality sleep that i need every day? between no AC, banging all day and moving, I NEED A VACATION. (and not that loony bin you call a "kennel" mom, that place is doggie hell!)
it may be 85 in the house but i know other doggies have it much worse than me right now so we're trying to stay tough.
mom keeps putting all of our stuff in boxes. i'm not sure what she's doing. she keeps saying something about moving into a house. i've never done this 'moving' thing before. i hope it's fun. mom says our new house will have lots of space and a fenced in back yard. i guess that sounds pretty good.
i also heard mom utter the dreaded words "foster shibas" in reference to this new house. i hope she is kidding. doesn't she know i'm the king aroud here?

one day, a long time ago, i was born in a puppymill. i had 6 littermates and we were rescued when we were 7 months old. a really fabulous breeder rescued us and adopted us out to homes. i wasn't so lucky though because the person who adopted me abondoned me after having me for a year. then i found my mom and it's been a happy story ever since.
apparently, my brother was also unlucky because he turned up in a shelter in NJ last week. the shelter found his microchip and contacted the breeder who rescued us.
now, normally i am against all rescue efforts because it disrupts my daily routine and usually exposes me to some serious ruffians. but in this case, because it was my brother, i told mom "let's go for it!"
she spent a long time on email working out the logistics and this weekend we helped rescue him! a very very kind person drove him from NJ to Pittsburgh where mom picked him up and drove him to Columbus. She got him home and we were reunited :) things were ok on a long walk together but when we got back home, my brother started to boss me around and i really didn't like it. so the next day i woke up determined to show him who was boss. mom was disappointed that it wasn't love at first sight, but i had to explain to her that just because you're brothers doesn't mean you'll get along!
so mom drove him down to cincinnati where the breeder will try to find him a good home. other than the fact that we didn't get along, he's a very good guy so i'm sure he will find a great home.
the last picture is us together, we're so cute!
