To play with Toby and Luna

Favorite Toy:
Luna's toys

Favorite Food:
Still don't know

Favorite Walk:
No walks allowed by her vet now, she's too little.

Best Tricks:
To convince dad to take her to Paraguay

Arrival Story:
Gaia was found by a friend who happens to be our neighbour on October the 4th 2007 at 6am while she was walking her two dogs. She took Gaia to her house and was trying to find her a home. Today (October the 5th) I was going for lunch with my daughter Chia when we saw her with 3 dogs (one of course was Gaia). She was taking her for a visit to a lady that may be would adopt her; well, we saw her and loved her, that's it! We took her home, introduced her to Toby and Luna, they accepted her and they played the whole afternoon. Then my husband arrived, and after some grumbling, said "ok, we'll take her with us to Paraguay". So, little Gaia, very very welcome to your new family and new home, we promess you to love you and spoil you a lot!

Gaia was left tied near the doggies park, she is about 3 months old, she is in good health but very skinny, she is eating now a lot so she will be strong and in good shape in a very short time, we promess.

It was still dark outside that early morning of October the 4th 2007. The being took me out of the house and then left me tied with a wire to a bench outside the doggies park. I remember I was scared, and the wire was too short for me to seat. Who knows how many hours I spent there, tired and cold. I was a puppy, about 3 months old, and couldn't understand why I had been sent away.

A lady walking her two pugs arrived next to me, untied me and took me to her apartment. She seemed to be a nice person, but she told me she couldn't keep me, that she was going to find me a forever home. I slept the whole morning, then the lady took me to the vets, I was ok but too skinny for a puppy. She made some phone calls, yes, she's a cute puppy, will you adopt her? Great, see you tomorrow afternoon! The lady turned to me and told me a woman wanted to meet me to may be adopt me. So that tomorrow was going to be my great day...and in fact it was!!!

I spent the night in the lady's apartment, and that afternoon I was ready to go to meet a maybe mom; the lady took us out for a walk before the meeting and sudendly she stopped. I heard a voice asking about me: who is this puppy? So you have a new dog! I raise my head and I saw them, two ladies (mother and daughter), looking at me with true love in their eyes. No, she's not my dog, the lady explained, she's for adoption, I found her yesterday morning and today she'll probably will be adopted.

The two ladies looked at me again, and at that very moment someone whispered in my ears: "you puppy, listen carefully. I know very well these two ladies, they were my mom and my sister when I was still on Earth, do what I say. Look deep into their eyes, they'll find something very special in your look, I'll help you". I did what the whisper told me to do and I could see tears in their eyes, they were speachless and so touched by something I couldn't understand then. But after a while the ladies went away, and we continued our walk. Our appointment with my maybe mom was near, so we took our way back to the apartment. We were near a cafe when one of the ladies (the one called mom by the whisper) ran to us: stop, stop, please, we want to adopt her, please, don't take her to the appointment!" Inmediately my leash was in her hands, while the voice of my foster friend was saying "she's yours, don't worry, I was sure it was going to be you".

My new mom and sister took me home, they opened the door, and inmediately a polar bear was sniffing me, while a black doggie was inviting me to play. They showed me the way to the terrace and we started to play. Mom and sister Chia sounded worried about a reaction of a human called "dad": what is he going to say? We are leaving in about a week, I'll have to stay to prepare all her papers for the flight", was saying mom.

Sudendly I saw Toby and Luna wagging their tails, something was happening!!! Mom and Chia were so nervous, and both went to the door to greet the human called "dad" (what is that? I was thinking). Mom and Chia sounded very, too much sweet when they opened the door, funny! I thought, why are they acting that way? The "dad" kissed mom and Chia, while Toby and Luna were jumping at him, their tails and paws were dancing. Then he saw me...oh no!, he said. Then his look changed, and he said "ok, she'll come with us, where there is room for two, there is room for three, welcome home, Gaia!!!".

Dad and Chia took the plane with Toby and Luna, while mom stayed for 20 days more to have my papers done. Now...there was a problem. I was too little for having my rabies shot done, and it was mandatory to have that shot to travel! But we had a human angel who solved the problem, and it was...our marvellous, great vet (thank you forever, dear Gianluca!!!). You won't believe this, but he lied for me!!! He gave mom a rabies shot certificate, and with that mom could have my passport! I still remember how nervous she was when she took me for asking the passport!!! Well, after two weeks the passport was ready, and so we were ready to travel.

Finally we arrived to the airport, everything was ok. After a while mom looked at me and told me: "Gaia, my love, it's time to go, we'll be separated for about 12 hours, please don't be afraid, Portos will take care of you, you'll not be alone". She put on me a pullover and gave me a few disgusting drops, her eyes full of tears. She petted me a lot, and after 10 minutes, I started to feel sleepy, terribly sleepy. Mom opened my crate, put me in, and covered me. All I wanted was to sleep. Then my crate was taken away, and I could see mom crying while waving at me. I closed my eyes and I slept.

I woke up many hours later, and found my crate was in a very strange place, full of lugagges and strange objects, but the most strange thing was it seemed to me there was no more ground under the floor of this strange place. Then I heard the whisper again: "don't be afraid, Gaia, I'm here with you. You are flying in the belly of a huge bird called plane, everything is fine, mom is very close even if you can't see her, I've been in a plane many times, you are going to a very far country, you'll like it, I've born there".

Sudendly the huge bird started to go down, down and down, until I could feel there was ground again under the floor, so I decided it was time to start to bark and cry, both at the same time. Some persons carried my cage out of the plane, and I started to hear mom's voice asking for me. "I'm here, mom, I'm here, I'm ok!" Of course mom started to cry again and took me out of the crate. Mom was hugging me like a mad person, then I saw dad, more and more hugs (mom and dad, would you mind if I walk for a while? I've been in my crate for more than 12 hours!)

We had finally arrived to the whispering angel dog country!!!

So we live here now, where me and my 5 canine bro and sisters have plenty of space to run and play. Yes, I'm a very very happy dog, my human family loves me a lot (too much sometimes, always kissing and hugging me, but well, ok, I'll admit it, I loooooove it!), and that bench near the doggie park is very far away in my memory.

I was adopted on St. Francis of Assisi day, so to him I send my prayer: please protect and save all animals in the world, those you have kindly called your brothers and sisters, and make them find their forever homes and families, may they be happy forever, amen!!!
