Arrival Story:
Zach and I were making the rounds one weekend, reassuring ourselves that at this point we were ready to bring somebody home, but weren't going to force anything. If we saw somebody we agreed on, then great. If not, there's always next weekend. So we started at the shelters in San Diego and headed north. With one stop left to go, we hit the Oceanside animal shelter, and there he was -- "Champ," or as he's known now, Baxter. He was playful and putting his paws up on the little bars and licking out at our fingers. We talked to the lady at the front desk, spent some one-on-one time with his playful little butt and we were sold for good. The next day I brought the paperwork I needed to adopt, then the following day he was off to the vet for routine de-boying. I picked him up groggy and with a cone around his head, grabbed my husband from work (it was eveningtime) and headed home to celebrate our new arrival. Welcome home, Baxter!
