The River's Tides

Since I moved in....

Well, when I arrived I was called Colonel, short for Colonel Sanders. I was given that name by Mommy because she thought I needed a name right away. Well, Mommy FINALLY caught on that I was not so hot about that name, so they talked about other names. Mommy wanted a name for me that went with Sandy's name, like Diego and Charger. Mommy and Daddy came up with a few, and they bounced them off me. None of them sounded good to my ears until they said River!! WHOA!! I spun around and looked at them!! I LIKE that name!! Mommy and Daddy just chuckled and said River was my new name!

So, Sandy and I now make Sandy River, which is the river at or near the foot of Mount Hood. Sandy River was named this by Lewis and Clark because it was very sandy after the 1800's volcanic eruption of Mt. Hood. Funny, cute, historic, and different! Everything Mommy wants in our names!

Sandy and I are in a training class at Petsmart right now. Last night we went to our second class. Do you believe they expect me to sit when THEY tell me to!?!? You humans reading this must be told that we don't like that!! Okay, so I am lying just a bit!! Us dogs LOVE it when you stuff food in our mouths, so I personally don't mind sitting for food!! Just next time can you make it a slice of pizza or some McDonald's?!!? I am SO bored with doggie treats and my food!! Mommy tells me that stuff isn't good for me, but it smells SOOOOO GOOD when she and Daddy eat it!!

Okay, okay, so I have to get off here now. Mommy says it is time to review what I learned last night! Hmm, review!! I sit, Mommy stuffs food in...I THINK I may have this down!!
