   Leave a bone for Biscuit

Bikkit, Pibble, Little Girl, HAP-HAP-HAPPPPPY!!!!

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-pound dog

Playing with our elkhound, Zeus; squeaky toys and stuffies; bones and anything chewy; chasing critters in the yard; playing tug; cuddling with humans on the couch; sleeping snuggled up under the blankets, or basking in the warmth of our woodstove.

Baths are scary...but not as scary as the six-pound kitty who rules our dogs with an iron paw! Cold weather's no fun either...unless she's got one of her custom-made sweaters on!

Favorite Toy:
Her flat squeaky pig from Auntie Meri, or her squeaky rainbow trout

Favorite Food:
Most anything mooched from humans...or kitty roca (ew!)

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere Big Brother Zeus is going...wait up!

Best Tricks:
Six-foot standing jumps. BOING! BOING! BOING!

Arrival Story:
Several months after adopting Zeus, I started looking into getting a second dog. I went back to his "alma mater", the Alexandria Animal Welfare League, and immediately fell in love with a wiggly little black-brindle pittie/staffie/mix? girl...but of course, compatibility with the current dog was a primary concern. So I visited with several dogs to see how they'd get along. The other pound pups I checked out were nice dogs, but when they were introduced to Zeus, the disinterest was mutual. Then out came little "Marrakesh", as the shelter had nicknamed her...and they hit it off instantly, frolicking like they were old friends. Little Miss Bikkit has been romping through my life ever since...perhaps not the brainiest dog I've ever known, but surely one of the sweetest, most loving, exuberantly playful pups you could ever wish for! Her youthful energy and playfulness have played a large part in helping bring Zeus out of his shell...and she never fails to bring a smile to her human friends, too.

Biscuit's background before the shelter is a complete mystery: she was found running loose and collarless near the King Street Metro in Alexandria. No collar and tags, no microchip...she seemed too friendly and too clean and well-fed to be anything but a lost pet...but no owner ever showed up to claim her. My best guess is that she was somewhere around a year old at the time, and most likely mostly pittie (or possibly staffie...less likely, but we'll never know for sure). Whatever her unknown background may be, this little girl's loving personality is pure bully, and she's busily making new friends for bully breeds, one wiggly-butt and kissy-face at a time!
