Arrival Story:
Lucy was the only daughter of Cinde. She was a show dog in the begining, but she hated it. She was alot like her mother.

Lucy was a wonderful dog. One Christmas day when we came home from a party we found that she had eaten a full pound of chocolate. Every one thought for sure that it was going to kill her. She was two when that happened. Needless to say she made it. Though we aren't sure how. Lucy had a close encounter of the third kind with one of my horses once. She was out playing in the pasture with Cinde when my youngest horse (who was 5 at the time) was watching them play. He came out to where they were running at and as soon as Lucy went by him he reached out and grabbed her by the back leg and just held her there. She started screaming bloody murder as I was running out to get the horse to let go. I no sooner got over the fence when he droped her and walked off. She wasn't hurt at all! She ran into the house and nothing was physically wrong. She never went out into the pasture again if he was out there and one of the family was not. One day Lucy was acting a little strange and her stomach had gotten unusually large in a little over an hour. I ran my hand along her and she let out the most painful scream I had ever heard. I called my mom (who used to be a vet) and told her what happened. She left work early and took Lucy to the vets office. He put her on some anti-biotics, but he still didn't really know what was wrong with her. Four days later it happened again. We took her back to the vet and he figured out that it was liver failure, he wanted to do exploritory surgury but Lucy was already almost 13 and we knew she was too old to put through that. That day we put her down. When we came home and she wasn't with us was the day that her mother started to go down hill. We lost her a little less than a month later, a week shy of her 15th birthday.
