Arrival Story:
Looked for a good breeder in Ontario with no luck, all the waiting lists were over a year and we had just spent a year deciding on the breed. I contacted an author of a book about the breed, Gail MacMillan, and she gave me a contact in Nova Scotia. Her dog Molly's father was from Shadowhill and she said he was great. I got in contact with the breeder that day and about 3 months later we had Charlie flown in from Yarmouth County. The ultrasound only showed 6 puppies and we were put on the list as #7. Luckily, we were informed on March 31 that she ended up having 7 puppies! We are planning on using him as a hunting companion as well as putting him in Retriever Trials for his WC. He has already completed his first set of 10 Field lessons. I would also like to get his CD title and eventually do the St. Johns Ambulance program and use him as a therapy dog in hospitals and Retirement homes.
