Gotcha Day!!

October 28th was my Gotcha Day, and I want to thank all of my friends who sent me paw mail, and gave me gifts for this special occasion. Mom says it is definitely a day to remember. Mom, Grandma and Auntie came to see me on that crisp Saturday morning of October 28, 2006. I was being kept in the bathroom at the time and snuggled right up to mom's chest when placed in her arms. I know it was love at first sight. My owners, at the time, was trying to get mom to buy my little black pug sister, but mom only had eyes for me. I was placed in Auntie's arms, while mom went to pay for me and to collect my papers, and I snuggled up under Auntie's jacket. Our first stop was the vet's office, where I was weighed, and was told when to come back for my next shots. Then we went to Wal-Mart, and while Grandma held me, mom went in and bought me so many new things!! Mom had to work that first afternoon I came to my furever home, but Auntie and Grandma took very good care of me. I am still loving my furever home five years later, and only have eyes for my family. I am so glad that mom choose me, and I know I will always be loved furever!!

I big thank you to all of my friends who sent me Birthday rosettes, paw mail, Birthday wishes and comments!! I have the best set of friends ever!!
I did have a Great Birthday and got a lot of nice gifts. I got a lot of doggie snacks too. Auntie says I am hard to buy for as all I do is sleep and eat snacks. I am not a big food eater though and mom and Auntie still feed me with a fork. Having a cat in the room to make me jealous is a must too. I love barking and last night when the raccoons came to eat from the cat bowl in the back yard, I barked and scratched at the back sliding glass door. Now, I am limping on my front leg. As you may remember, I have always had bad back legs and have been favoring my back leg all week. Now it is my front leg. :-( Now, mom says I may not be able to go on vacation with her and Grandma. They are leaving the day after Labor Day to visit relatives in Indiana, and now there is a chance I may not be able to go. I will have to stay home with Auntie and Petey. This is going to break my heart and mom's, but mom says she is scared that I am really going to get hurt. Most of the trip will be in the car, and Jinx, my Pug Cousin, is so much bigger than I am. Mom says I have to be at least 95% better before Monday night, or no road trip for me. I hope I am better.

My 5th Birthday!!

Officially my birthday is August 30th, but we celebrated yesterday. Grandma made turkey for lunch and mom made her famous meat balls. We went to Iola and I got an ice cream cone at McDonald's. We came home and I got to open all of my gifts. I got so many presents!! A picture is included in my photo album. I got a cake with my picture on it, and ice cream. I had a great time. Not bad for turning 5, huh?!
A very special thank you to my Hawaii friends, Tammy, Peanut and Lovey, for the birthday gift you sent in the mail. I love Hawaii doggie treats, and mom loved the Pug magnet to put on her car. You guys are terrific!! Thank you so much!!

Easter

Today was Easter Sunday and I had a great time. It was a good weekend. Yesterday we went to Auntie Rebecca's house for cousin Garen's birthday. Of course, I was so excited that mom got a bit irritated with me on the ride up, because I kept going back and forth from the front seat to the back. I did have fun playing with doggie cousins, Sadie and Bo, and mom fed me grilled chicken that Uncle Tim cooked on the grill. Petey and I had so much fun that we slept all the way home. Today, mom and I go over to Grandma and Auntie's house and after a meal of yummy turkey, Petey and I get our Easter baskets. I got Easter, cards and then from Grandma I got beef jerky, Cesar snacks, and beef and cheese Jack Links. From Auntie, I got Busy Rollhide Bones, Big Blast bones and Denta Stix. From Mom, I got beef jerky, a stuffed dog with Bunny Ears (and I didn't chew off the nose like Petey did), cowboy steaks, Beggin Strips, Busy Rollhide bones, Denta Stix and Purina One Turkey dog food. We got to go to Sonic to get drinks and a ride through the park. Today was also Petey's birthday, so I watched him open his gifts and then we got cake and ice cream. Of course, I only like the ice cream and I ate mine and Petey's too!! It was a wonderful day!!

Warmer Weather...

We have got so much snow in the last two weeks, that Grandma had to shovel paths for me and Petey in the back yard. So far this year, we have gotten 33 inches of snow. I am ready for Spring! The good news.. the warmer weather is coming. Water is already dripping off the house and on Friday it is suppose to be 60 degrees! Last Saturday was mom's birthday and I made it memorable by sitting on her birthday cake! Yes, mom and Auntie went to pick it up at the store (without me!) and made the mistake of putting the cake in my car seat. So when they got home, I jumped in the car and back in my car seat, sitting right in the middle of the cake! I didn't cause too much damage, just smashed a bit of frosting onto the plastic top of the box. But mom took a picture and didn't seem mad at all. Next weekend, Auntie Trisha and the family is coming all the way from Indiana and they are staying at my house. I can't wait. A lot of relatives are coming to see Auntie Trisha's new baby girl. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I know Petey and I are going to get something. I hope all of my friends do too. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

Christmas!!

I had a wonderful Christmas, although I ended up sacked out before all of the gifts were opened. We went to Auntie Rebecca's last Sunday and I spent most of the day barking at the mechanical Santa Claus. Auntie Rebecca got me a Santa loofa dog and a package of Beneful Snackin Slices. Yesterday was Christmas at my house, and the first thing Petey does after walking in is eat all of the doggie snacks that mom left out for Santa's reindeer. We all opened our gifts and I got a Dog Pillow Pet, a soft baby girafee, a stuffed bear, a Furr Real Pug Puppy, a stuffed squeaky dog wearing a Santa hat, a squeaky raccoon, a case of Chef Michael's turkey dog food, a Harley Davidson sweatshirt, a box of Interceptor, Auntie Trisha sent me a chatter raccoon, from Indiana, a small bag of Beggin Strips, a huge bag of Beggin Strips, three packages of Denta Stix, a package of beef jerky, a package of Busy Chewnola bones, a package of Pup Peroni, a package of Cowboy Steaks, two cans of Purina One turkey dog food (I found out I really like this), and my friends, Peanut and Lovey, from Hawaii, sent me and Petey some Peanut Butter and Banana doggie treats. Thank you so much Peanut and Lovey! By the end of the gift wrapping, Petey and I was passed out. We came awake fast when we went over to Auntie and Grandma's house and had a turkey dinner! Me and Petey love turkey! We went out to Grandpaw's grave site and Petey and I bark at the cows we see on the way. Later more turkey. It was a very Merry Christmas!!

Yearly Shots

Today mom and Auntie took me to the vet's to get my yearly shots. I was not thrilled about this, but I can't resist the car ride, no matter where we end up. Poor Petey was shaking so bad, because he thought he was going to get stuck. Auntie couldn't even come back to the exam room with me and mom because Petey had her down in the waiting room, shaking in her lap. I was going to get my rabies shot too, even though it is not due until January, but mom decided to wait. Too many shots in one day is just not right! Auntie took us to Sonic afterwards and mom got me a chicken strip sandwich. Petey got a hamburger because Auntie felt bad about him shaking. We got to go by the Collie dog's house and Petey was hanging out the window barking at them. I enjoyed the car ride and the chicken, even though I could have done without the shots!

Mom's Been Home for Four Days!!

I had a great Thanksgiving weekend, and it was made even better by having mom home so much. She is working 3 to 11 p.m. now, so she doesn't go back to work until tomorrow afternoon. We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner, and I begged from the table and got turkey and ham. We went for a lot of car rides, which I love. Mom and I slept in every morning and everyone came over to help put up our Christmas tree. We took a lot of Christmas photos and then Petey and I got to sit on Santa's lap. I didn't like this very much, but everyone still said I was cute. Auntie really needs to stock the car with more snacks though! Mom is going to see Harry Potter this afternoon, for the second time, so Auntie will be watching me and Petey. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend and will have a great festive Christmas coming up!

Pet Smart

Yesterday Mom, Auntie and I made a special trip to Pet Smart. They just don't sell the Chef Michael's dog food around here, and mom decided we needed to make the trip. I sat on Auntie's lap on the two hour drive and got so excited when we arrived just as the store was opening. Auntie brought a blanket with her, so she put it down in the cart and I got to ride around in style. Mom got me at least three cases of Chef Michael's, and a bunch of Cesar dog food. I also got a Harley Davidson black hoodie. Mom tells me it is for Christmas, but I got to wear it yesterday because it was so cold. It rained on us on the way home and I slept most of the way. Mom also got me a big bag of Denta Stix and a big bag of Beggin Strips. Petey didn't get to go with us, but we brought him home some goodies too. All in all, it was a great day!

Stranded... Stranded at... the stop sign!

On Tuesday, Auntie and Petey came over to pick up me and mom to do some errands. Mom has to leave at 2:30 p.m. for work, so Auntie comes over around noon. We are about six blocks away from home, at a stop sign, when...the car dies. What to do? Of course, Petey and I don't notice anything wrong for a few minutes as we are barking at the dogs across the street from the stop sign. Auntie tries to start the car over and over, but it just isn't working. Finally Auntie gets out of the car and starts walking home. Little does she know... she forgets her purse, with mom's keys inside, so Auntie can't even bring mom's car to pick us up. We sit in the car for several minutes when someone stops to ask mom if she needs help. Of course, Petey and I put up such a ruckus, that mom can't even hear. Finally Grandma comes to get me and Petey in the truck, and mom stays with the car. Grandma calls a cousin who comes and tows the car back to Auntie and Grandma's house. Petey and I have been going with Auntie and Grandma every night to feed the stray cats in the truck and let me tell you, the truck is small. We find out that the car needs a new fuel pump and Grandma just had a new one put in on February 5th of this year. We are getting the part free (YAY!), but Grandma still has to pay for the labor. And, for the second time, the wrong part is ordered/received, so Auntie and Grandma still doesn't have their car back. I hope they get it back soon... the treats are always in the car, so the truck is just no fun!!
