Mom and I don't sleep in very late this morning. Everyone went to bed so early last night that we all got up early this morning. We were all ready to walk over to Auntie and Grandma's house at 8:30 a.m. and Grandma fixed us breakfast. I lounged with Auntie for awhile this morning, but eventually I went out to mingle with the rest of the family too. Mom walks me home around 1 p.m. New Moon starts at 1:50 p.m. and mom leaves with the rest of the family to go and see it. I hear Petey threw a fit when he had to go back in his crate again. He is definitely not use to going in two times during one week end. It is almost dark and almost 5:30 p.m. before my family returns. I am so happy to see mom again and right away she feeds me dinner. Auntie comes over around 6 p.m. to pick me up for a car ride with Grandma, Petey, Trent and Dakota. Of course I am not use to not having a car seat in the car and also not use to going without my board. Auntie and Grandma has a short 2x4 from the front seat to the back seat and Petey and I use that to navigate from the front and back seat. It is covered with a towel and stapled down so we use that for traction. When the board is not there, we always seem to slip and fall, so we had to be especially careful tonight. Instead of taking me home, Auntie brings me back to her house. I have fun and I eat some Puppy Chow and a small bowl of ice cream that Auntie stirred and stirred to make nice and creamy. It was definitely not Dairy Queen though. Then Grandma accidently leaves me out on the porch, so I mark a couple of things to let her know that I was not pleased. Mom comes to pick me up before 8:30 p.m. and we walk back to my house. It is different not sleeping with Auntie, but great that I get to sleep in my own bed.
Mom and I get up early, and I make mom walk me around and around our back field before I finally relented and did my business. See I know today is Saturday and mom always leaves me behind to do her shopping, so I was trying to prolong that as long as I could. It is decided that mom's car trunk is bigger than Auntie and Grandma's, so mom drives out of our driveway and I sit down to wait. I am sitting in the office window waiting for my family to return when a big red Denali parks in Auntie and Grandma's driveway. Family from Indiana has arrived and my family is still on their shopping trip. I sit and bark at them from across the road for about 30 minutes before mom's car drives in and Auntie waves at me from the driver's seat. Mom gets out our groceries and Auntie and Grandma drive mom's car over to their house to greet the family. I am told by mom that she knew they were here (thank goodness for cell phones). Mom feeds me lunch and then we walk over to Auntie and Grandma's house to join the family. Petey is already making a hit with everyone and I join my barks into the bunch! We visit awhile and then we all go back over to my house. Petey and I watch everyone play Wii for awhile and then we order pizza from Pizza Hut. Uncle Brian goes to fetch the food and then Petey and I beg from mom and Auntie. My car seat is taken out of Auntie and Grandma's car, but Petey and I still go with Auntie, Grandma, Cousin Trent and Dakota, to feed the stray cats up town. When that is finished, Auntie takes me back to mom's house and mom comes out to fetch me. Petey goes home with Cousin Trent and Dakota, while I have Auntie Trisha, Uncle Brian and Cousin Tanner at my house. I think it will be an early night, because the family is tired from driving such a long trip from Indiana to Kansas. I think Petey will go to bed early because he was having fun chasing the kids around and around my sofa. I think he may have to sleep with Auntie tonight though and I don't know how that is going to go over. New Moon is tomorrow, so I know I will be left behind, but it is always harder on Petey, because he goes in his jail crate. I am just glad that mom took the week off. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
This morning I was surprised as being chosen as one of the Daily Diary Picks! I always welcome this special honor, because not only does it give me reason to write about my days, but because it shows that so many others are interested in what I have to say. Thank you to all of my Dogster friends for their gifts of congratulations, and for always stopping by my page to read my diary. I am so glad that we found Dogster and we thank everyone who makes us feel welcome every day.
