Leave a bone for Phoenix ****ADOPTED**** Birthday: May 5th 2006 Arrival Story: This poor very badly wounded pit somehow managed to find his way to a good samaritan's porch. He was taken to a vet who did the surgery to repair and suture the deep gashes following 3 days of antibiotics. The vet said these were an act of deliberate mutilation to this dog, with a knife or machete, as they cut cleanly through the flesh, muscle and into the bone without tears or jagged edges. It could not have been incurred through accidental trauma. There were no bite marks to indicate this dog had been involved in a dog fight. Despite strongly hoping to keep him the good samaritan's landlord was unwilling to budge and said no! After what that boy went through we just couldn't say no so we brought him into the program.
