We are feeling sad today

Today is a sad day for two reasons, the first one is that we had to say good bye to our cat Silver, he was been a member of our family for almost 17 years and even though everything told us that is was time to say goodbye as everyone knows it is still a hard thing to do. Silver was a very smart fellow and always showed us a great deal of affection and attention, unlike some other cats I have known. Our family has lost all three of our cats since 07, Chubber (age 18 +) we found him,pasted at the beginning of the year and Silver's brother Pistol passed on Oct 3,07. I miss them all and hope they are all together at the rainbow bridge.
The second reason we are sad is we had our hopes on adopting a new rattie that we meet through dogster, I found out today that he went to another home over the weekend and I am heartbroken. I understand why it happened since I am far away and a home was found locally and certainly I am happy for him to have a permanent home. I just felt a very stong connection to him as soon as I first saw his picture and I really thought he was going to join our family and be a kid brother to Arthur. I know there are are alot of dogs for adoption but this little guy was special and I will be sorry that I did not get him for a long time. I want to thank his foster mother for rescuing him from the cage he lived in for 4+ months and for taking care of him, so he could have a better life. Even though we never meet they will both in my heart.
