Arrival Story: I wanted a small dog, but didn't really know what kind. We looked at shelters, in newspapers, online for a dog to adopt. Then one day we found a farm that was breeding puppies. They had tons of puppies and full grown dogs. I think it was a puppy mill. Most of the dogs seemed healthy, but there were so many! We first saw Fernie in a small cage in the garage lined with wood shavings. She was with her brothers and sisters. They were all so tiny, only 8 weeks old. All of the little chihuahuas huddled in the back corner of the cage and would not approach us. We thought maybe these pups were too afraid. But then, one pup, Fern, slowly approached us at the front of the cage. She was the only one brave enough to check us out. So we spent some time with her and instantly fell in love! Fernie is such a sweet, loving little soul.
Bio: The place we got Fern from told us she is a purebred chihuahua, but she doesn't have any papers. She is a little large for a chihuahua, but healthy as an ox, full of spunk and personality, and just the cutest little girl you ever did see.
We were looking for a relatively small dog and I saw an ad. in the paper for a lot of small puppies. So we went to take a look and there was pomerainians, chihuahuas, pugs,ex. and in this small little bran we went into there were all the just able to sell puppies. And the far left there was a cage with about ten tiny chihuahuas in and they were all hudled up in one corner. Fern was the only one brave enough to come over and let me pet her so that was the one. My little angle. Origanally that day we were going to go target shotting and it was cold so I brought fern and walked around with her in my coat and she fell asleep in there till we got home.
