Arrival Story:
My late husband & I were living in Wyoming in 1999 & a cruel neighbor had shot & killed a beloved black lab mix we had. We decided to get another black lab mix from the local shelter and we got Buddy.

Bio:
Buddy was an enormous lap dog. He was my therapy dog when everything was going sideways and I just needed someone to hold onto. My husband was dying of liver disease and my career was going down the tubes. Buddy stuck with me through all of the tragedies that followed and is still with me today. My husband died in 2001, my father in 2004. My mother had to go into a nursing home in 2006 after I took care of her for 2 years, and she no longer speaks to me. Still, Buddy is here, unjudging and constant. He's dumber than a box of rocks but he's still cool. :) And he still cuddles up to me at night whether I need it or not. Update: 11/13,08 Buddy had been suffering from degenerative spine disease and herniated discs for some time. He had been given a few extra months with steroids and pain medicine but finally the discs pressing on his spinal cord affected his mobility. He took several bad falls down the deck stairs, and finally he lost control of his bodily functions and could no longer stand up. He went to the Rainbow Bridge at last, to get some much-needed rest.
