Arrival Story:
I decided to foster a dog and Carson is my first. I am fostering him for SW MO K9 in Springfield, MO. They got him from the pound. He was picked up as a stray, which is hard to believe. When came to my house and he ran in grabbed a toy and got on my couch like he was home. You can tell someone gave him alot of love before they got rid of him. I fouind out he has severe hip dyplasia and could not be placed up for adoption, so he is with me forever. i know it would be a huge responsiblity but he is worth it. He loves, loves to go for walks. He is a happy dog and seems to be doing great.

Carson is a big and happy dog. Loves his bones and destroying stuff animals.

Too young to die

I received bad news about Carson today. I took him in to get xrays. The vet find out by the xrays that he has severe hip dysplasia. His ball joints are not even in their sockets. They are free moving. They said he needs a full hip replacement, which cost $7,000 or he has about 2 years left until I would have to put him to sleep. He is too young, loving and happy dog to do that to. I am praying and doing alot of research on what to do. I have grown too attached to him and do not want to lose him. I was sad before about the thought of losing him to a new family but how am I supposed to deal with putting him to sleep. I made him an appointment with a specialist in hip dysplasia surgeries. I was told he made be able to get the FHO surgery, which is about $5000 cheaper. I am going to raise the money through donations and asking organizations for help. I will keep you updated.

Carson is having trouble

I noticed since I got Carson something was not right with his hips. First I thought it was that he recently got neutered and his incision was bothering him. I took him to the vet two weeks ago and they said he may have a Tick Borne Disease. They gave him medicine and said that he should be showing a huge approvement in a few days. However, he seemed to get worse. So I took him in Friday and they examined him and said he may need xrays, but I needed to bring him back so they could put him under so they could get the right angle. I am so scared he has something really wrong with his hips and just the thought of it hurts. This would make his chances of getting adopted go down. I have been paying the vet bill because the rescue is having trouble making ends meet. I know that I can not afford and big vet bill, especially if he needs surgery. I have a feeling who ever gave this wonderful boy up, got him from a PM or BYB in the Walmart parking lot. After he started growing they noticed he was having trouble walking and took him to the vet and they told them him had something major wrong. They paniced and drove him out to the country as fast as they could and dumped him. They gave up on him and did not even looked back. He deserves to be with a family that would do anything for. I just hope he can still find someone that can give him what he needs.

I took Carson to Apple Fest and he was just wonderful. He was very social and just loved the attention he received. A four year old came up to him with her face white with blue stars wanted to pet him. I never saw a dog be so gentle with a little person before. He just leaned his head on stomach and just relaxed and allowed her to stroke his ears. I can tell he has been around kids before and was wonderful with them. He would love to have a family with kids again and I hope he gets it.......he deserves it.
