My new home, pink and white fur bed, snuggling on the pillows at bedtime, playing

When I'm left by myself for the 10 minutes "Dad" is gone to get the newspapers or food at Panera, not being able to climb the stairs to get to "Dad", Oliver not wanting to play.

Favorite Toy:
Empty water bottles, miniature devil ball, sticks and leaves I find outside and carry around in my mouth.

Favorite Food:
NOT the medicine I have to take for my cough!

Favorite Walk:
Up to the corner and back - though I get carried part of the way!

Best Tricks:
Sit, give kisses, jumping over Oliver's head. I'm learning more, too!

Arrival Story:
Mia lives with Oliver's grandma and grandpa. Oliver's grandpa was lonely after his long-time canine companion named Tosca died unexpectedly. Oliver's grandma took him to the ARL to pick out a new dog. Another lady was holding Mia when Oliver's grandma decided Mia was the dog they wanted. It was love at first sight.

Mia's previous owner kept her for only 4 days before returning her to the ARL. He claimed that she was too aggressive toward his other dog. Mia wants to know how a 3 1/2 pound puppy can be aggressive to a full-grown dog. Mia's "parents" say they feel like they won the lottery when they found her; Mia feels the same way about them!

Mia and Oliver:
Mia met Oliver for the first time the day after she came home. At first, she wasn't sure what to think because Oliver is five times her size. Likewise, Oliver wasn't sure what was going on since the dogs he's been around have been either too old or too big to play with him. Mia stayed close to her "parents" for awhile and quickly got down to play. She and Oliver chased each other all over the yard. She's one quick girl with her long legs. Even though she's tiny, she still has long legs - even longer than Oliver's.

Mia & Dad:
Mia's "Dad" is quite smitten by her charms. Even though he is still sad about the recent loss of Tosca, Mia has stolen his heart. He and Mia are always together, hanging out in the house and yard or walking up the street.

Mia & Mom:
One of the first things Mia's "Mom" pointed out is that she is fragile and has tiny bones just like her. She also has said she doesn't want to go on vacation ever again because she can't bear the thought of leaving Mia at the kennel. So Mia may be getting a special doggy carry-on sometime soon!

Mia & Little Girl:
Oliver is happy to share his human siblings with Mia. The "Little Girl" loves to hold Mia in the rocking chair. When Mia first met the "Little Girl," she was so happy. Her tail just wouldn't stop wagging and she gave the "Little Girl" millions of kisses, which of course the "Little Girl" had to return.

Mia & The Ox:
Oliver warned Mia about "The Ox" and his "dog stealing" tendencies. Luckily, "The Ox" has conducted himself in a manner befitting to the little princess.
