Jia loved her Mom and Dad and every child she met or any other person for that matter. She just loved life!
Not being allowed to chase after cars or trucks. She was so full of energy.
Her red stuffed pig.
Jia ate IAMS dry and Science Diet for a little while. She started out on Eukanuba puppy food.
Anyplace we took her which was all around the neighborhood and out to the farm.
Jia loved to play fetch, that was her best "trick".
I always wanted a Pekingese and Jia was our first. She was adorable and we loved her dearly. She did not ride well as a small pup. It made her throw up but she did outgrow that and loved to ride anywhere we went, especially if we opened the window so she could feel the wind on her face.
Jia always swallowed anything she found that wasn't too big. She would not give up anything, not even for a treat, she would swallow it and then want the treat she had been offered. This was what killed her before she was a year old. She swallowed pennies that had fallen out of my husband's pockets while he was in his recliner. They were under the chair, not able to be seen until he was in it reclined. Apparently, she got under there, got them and swallowed. We saw her with 2 one time. I called our vet who said give her some mineral oil, they would proabably pass through her. They did not and a few days short of her 11th month birthday, she died. She had spent the night at the vets being treated for what he thought was a virus probably. She had thrown up at home, I took her and he gave me pills to give her. The next day she was worse, I took her back and he kept her that time overnight to give her some fluids. When the office opened the next morning, she had thrown up a good bit overnight including 4 pennies and a nickel!! Two of the pennies had started disentegrating which poisened her system and was destroying her liver. This vet had never heard of this before he said. Jia died that morning before 9:00 A.M. It was a very sad time, I cried and cried as did the staff at the veterinary office. Jia was a very sweet Peke and loved by all. I don't know how we could have prevented this, the two I saw her swallow were about 2 weeks prior to her death so the others had probably been in her much longer. Had we known the damage they could do and that they were in her, I guess we could have done surgery to remove them. However, we did not know and presumed the two I saw her swallow had indeed "passed through her". We are so grateful that our current Peke will give up anything for a treat and won't swallow strange things at any rate. She will chew on little pieces of paper for example, then leave them wet in the floor sometimes. I wish Jia had been that way too. We will always remember her and love her.
Live your life to the fullest.

When you are tagged you have to post 7 random facts
about yourself (and the rules because some doggies
may not know what they have to do). Then you have to
pick 7 of your pal’s to tag (choose 7 who have not
already been tagged, as this become more of a game,
and more doggies can get involved in the fun! Once
you have selected your 7 friends you tag them by paw
mailing them or by giving them a rosette with the
message, “You’ve been tagged please read my diary
for the rules”!

Jia was our first "house" dog. We had larger dogs when our children were small who lived outdoors and went with them wherever they went. Jia was "our" dog, her Dad loved her as much as I did. It was a shock when she died. She did not last but 2 days after we knew she was sick and only the morning she died, did we know what was wrong. She was good and minded about everything "except" giving up her treasures which she quickly swallowed rather than give them up. If not for that, she might still be with us today. You can read what happened that caused her death in her bio. Jia thought she was a big dog, she was very energetic, loved her walks and never seemed to tire. She went walking on Monday before she died on Wednesday. She was an amazing Peke and we loved her with all our hearts. We miss you Jia!!! I Love You Jia, Mom
